Why does it seem like this is Seantrel Henderson's fifth or sixth transfer since he became college eligible? Can this dude just not make up his mind what colors he wants to wear?

I'm sorry, are there waves behind that woman? I didn't notice.

As of yesterday, Big East Double-Bye teams are now 6-6 in the last three years. Keep in mind, however, that three of those losses are by one team: PITT, a team which we all know cannot handle the pressure of a high seeding or any extended rest period of time. Please also note that teams with double-byes went 3-1 yesterday, two of them thoroughly and utterly DEMOLISHED their opponents (Notre Dame and Louisville), and another one just beat the hottest team in the Big East (Syracuse). I don't think the DBs are such a bad thing. If anything the Double-Byes give the Big East Season MORE meaning because they give you something to shoot for in the regular season if you can't quite win that championship.

Possible solution to the conundrum? Reward both the regular season AND conference tournament champs auto-bids. Whatever slots are left open afterward give those to At-Larges and we can all go home happy.

You won't be yawning when the referees screw YOUR team out of a chance to advance in a major tournament. Might even happen this afternoon. You never know.

That's kinda how I feel about St. John's right now. Dangerous team that Notre Dame will likely have to face in the Semifinals (followed by a likely date with either Syracuse or Pitt! UGH!!).

Either Jacory or Tate Forcier would be an open invitation for a Notre Dame beatdown. But what about the guy who took over for Jacory in the Sun Bowl? Or is he "gradjitated?"

Christmas Creep. Eventually it'll be Christmas all year round. Sometime soon too it would seem.

LSU was Oh-So-Lucky in a few of those games, though. That might not be the case this coming season.

Mettenberger is the "Flavor of the Month" down in Baton Rouge lately. But I'm with you. I'd rather my coach went with game-experience over raw talent. Raw Talent with no experience only works in High School because the elite talent is so spread out you can get away with more. From college on up, it's a completely different story and you need that experience and knowledge and strength training to accumulate as much as possible before you throw someone to the wolves. What kills me is so many coaches continue to break this golden rule and we see so many Quarterbacks with potential forever ruined because of it.

Good thing I'm also a baseball fan so I have something to whittle away the Summer Months leading up to Football Season.

Why? Didn't you guys just clean their clocks yesterday to earn that overall Number One Seed in the NCAA Tournament? I think you pretty much avenged that loss back in February and did it convincingly. I would have thought you'd be feeling very satisfied right now.

Even if Michigan gets pushed into the tournament, it's very likely they'll be one of the high-60's At Larges who have to play on "Tip-Off Tuesday." And it very likely will be against Boston College or Clemson for that 5 v 12 slot. This according to Joe Lunardi's Bracketology, so I'm not just making this up out of thin air. So not only will Michigan have to play an extra game to get into the tournament, it will be against an opponent that is more or less equally matched to them (which will drain them and force them to play hard while their eventual #5 seed opponent will be well rested going in).

Seriously, Michigan would be better off in the NIT as a higher seed where they have a halfway decent chance of winning a tournament against their mediocre equals. They won't get any credit for winning a "Play-In Bracket" game from the fans or media, and it will only hurt them going into "First Round Thursday" where the games truly matter.
Posted Saturday March 05, 2011, About: Knicks star rips BYU over Davies
They didn't kick Davies out of school. They kicked him off the team. There's a huge difference.

Frankly I think it's refreshing that BYU took a stand on principle instead of looking the other way for the sake of their BBall team being competitive. BYU stood to have possibly its best season ever in Men's Basketball but they chose to do the right thing and enforce their rules, even if it hurt the team, thereby establishing that NO MAN is above the rules.

The rule itself irks me, but that's not the point. It's the principle of the thing, and that's what's important. Now BYU has set a precedent where there is no ambiguity or double-standard involving its student-athletes versus regular students.

I happen to be a Knicks fan. Amare Stoudemire, you are embarrassing me and millions of other Knicks fans. Just stop!

Posted Friday March 04, 2011, About: Auburn lost more than $600K on BCS title trip
All colleges lose money on traveling to bowl games. Especially to BCS bowl games. The only people who benefit from the BCS are the BCS Bowl Organizers. It's astounding to me that College Presidents and Conference Commissioners willingly take part in a system designed to scam their Universities out of precious dollars. At least Mark Cuban is offering to PAY teams for attending his proposed "playoff system."

Boy has this thread ever been derailed! We've gone from talking about a dead football player, to suicide insurance, to hockey, to hitting Deer on the highway. What'll we talk about next? lol

No, PETA is too busy bugging the University of Georgia about UGA. Even though the damn Bulldog lives better than THEY do!!

You said in your other post that you keep hitting Does. I don't think it's legal to hunt Does in most states, especially during breeding season. Is the law different in Michigan?

I grew up in Upstate New York which has not only a massive Deer Explosion in recent years, but also the Deer have utterly NO FEAR when it comes to humans anymore (because morons are feeding them, which is against the law). Every day I remember you could see at least one or two herds grazing in open fields on the side of the road while driving to work. During mating season it's worse because the Bucks chase the Does onto the road during their mating romps.

But the people who hit these Deer generally don't die unless they hit them with a tiny little car or the Deer leap through the windshield and gore them with their antlers. But those instances are one in a hundred. Most of the time the drivers end up rattled and with broken cars, but its the Deer who pay the biggest price. The message from traffic safety bureaus is simple: Keep a sharp eye out, drive slowly, account for weather conditions, and never let down your guard. They don't post those "Deer Crossing" signs just for the sake of posting them...
