Miami's a lot cooler than Gainesville, dude. You can do better...think hard, or phone a friend that is somewhat clever.
Posted Wednesday November 11, 2009, About: South Florida LB takes shot at Rutgers
Because otherwise they'd just goof off & get him killed. WHEW! Lucky Wilson reminded them to protect the QB.

RU doesn't need motivation. They have a ton to play for, and the entire football nation knows they have a soft schedule, and haven't beaten a Div 1-A team with a winning record yet. Oh, they have plenty to get pumped up about. GO BULLS! Kion did nothing wrong, but did put some pressure on himself to play lights out football, even tho' he's injured. Time for everyone to step up. We'll be without deep threat Carlton Mitchell, but others will step up.

They aren't haters...but many are elitists that think only football programs over 50 years old deserve wins, and press time. It really gets old. But FSU fans said the same thing, and we saw how that worked out.

We improve a bit each year, and had our best recruiting class last year. UM in 2+ weeks...that'll be our biggest recruiting op in years. Canes are very talented, but have suffered bouts of inconsistency. Let's hope we get them on a flat, eratic day. GO BULLS.

Oh, and no issues with Kion's comments. RU doesn't need to get bulletin board material...they will be up for us, and looking to make a move for the Top 25.

Go to USF...closer to home, we play true freshman (see Sterling Griffin, Keyvon Webster and Sam Barrington).
Posted Sunday October 04, 2009, About: Can Miami beat Tennessee to recruit?
Good luck, SVT. I became a Canes fan when an outgoing sr at my hs signed at UM,as I was coming in as a freshman DE. First guy from our hs...Ronnie Lippett, back in '80. I've been a Canes fan ever since, but as a USF alum, had to change my #1 team to USF in '97.

I do catch Canes games when I can. VTech last year; GTech this year. Lots of pals at work are UM alum or fans. Wake Forrest & NC State may be your biggest challenges. But take care of business at UCF. I was there last year at the USF game...and their fans are the worst. They'll cuss your kids, and talk nasty in numbers. The upside: if the Canes jump up early, they'll leave early. If not, the aluminum stadium will literally be rocking to the point that you may fear it'll collapse. I'm serious...But it can be LOUD. Don't think I'll go, but who knows...may be fun to watch.
Posted Sunday October 04, 2009, About: Can Miami beat Tennessee to recruit?
SVT, the UCF bloggers are saying UM fans won't go to the UCF-UM game...saying they couldn't even fill the 5k they got for FSU (note: USF bought the first 5k, then up to the 12k we finally got).

I argue that UCF is closer, on a Saturday and will pit a Top 10 Canes team v an upset hungry UCF, and that Canes fans WILL travel. I'm tempted to go & wear my USF jersey just to see the crowd...it's going to be LOUD & WILD.

I see the Canes coming to Tampa on 11/28 at 10-1, barring a letdown. Should be Top 5. Sadly, without help, you could be Top 5, and not even get to play in the ACC Champ Game (a scenario like the Big 12 last year).

So...are you guys coming to UCF? BRING IT!!
Posted Sunday October 04, 2009, About: Can Miami beat Tennessee to recruit?
If you're a good RB, looking for reps, you can play early on USF, and be part of the rising Bulls. BJ Daniels is a r-FR (injury), and Sterlin Griffin (recruited by UM) caught a 77 yd TD v FSU as a true frosh. Freshman Sam Barrington is a LB, getting plenty of time, as is CB Keyvon Webster (got a pick v. Cuse yesterday).

If you have the skills, Leavitt will put you on the field & give you a chance to play 4 years. I do agree with an earlier poster: be a stud, and you'll see the field almost anywhere.

FSU still recruits well. Florida is all the rage now, but FSU & UM get at on as well. For the first time ever, USF had a Top 25 recruiting class in 2009. With our win over FSU, and with FSU headed to 6-6, +/-, some kids on the fence may come to USF, and get us into the Top 4 firmly.

Florida will be king for years to come in Florida, long after the Tebow years. UM is rising quickly, too. I was at the USF-FSU game, and even before the game, most fans were saying BB needs to step down & turn over the reins. People love him...he's a great person. But many feel the game has passed him by, and want a younger, energetic, progressive thinking coach (e.g. Saban, Meyer, etc....even Rich Rod or Les Miles). Bobby could turn over full control, but still be part of recruiting the "big fish" on campus tours, and promoting the school. It's time.

Posted Monday September 28, 2009, About: Kentucky DE who hit Tebow 'sorry'
I don't think he's apologizing for planting Tebow. He's sincerely sorry that the end result was an injury. Most guys want to hit you as hard as they can...but don't want the result to be an injury.

The hit was clean and lifted Tebow. Not an easy task. I'm sure Tebow will recover, and I won't start another debate on why he was even in the game this late, with that stout Gator D clamping down, up 24.

SethGator showing a USF Bull on his avatar? Very cool. This guy can come to USF, and join one of the best d-lines in college. Just ask FSU...it's not just Selvie anymore.

Seth: Hope Tebow recovers...he's a tough guy, and UF is clearly the top team. That said, Brantley could carry UF, given the D's success thus far.
Posted Friday September 18, 2009, About: Tebow avoids nude photos
This is fabricated on a slow news day for Tebow. Notice how it doesn't say how old the girl was...just sayin'.

UM fans, I was at the game last night. It was a lot worse than 33-17. Canes look exponentially better than last year's Canes. VTech and Okie will show if they are truly back. If they get past them, they could run the table till they get to Tampa (kidding...USF will have a hard time with them if we don't get better soon. Harris is POISED!).
Posted Monday September 14, 2009, About: New offense boosts Miami recruiting
I hate to agree with a Gator, but GatorNation is spot on. I'll be at the game with some Canes co-workers (wearing my Bulls jersey!), and we'll see if UM has come as far as it seemed v. FSU.

GTec looked amazing v. Clemson...for nearly a half. Then, shaky. UM's D gave up a lot of yards, but swarmed to the ball. GT gashed them shamelessly last year, and broke their spirit early. This game should be telling for both teams.

Looking forward to UF-Tenn Sat...wonder if Urban will try to win by 50, or let of the throttle (yeah, who am I kidding). GO BULLS!
Posted Friday September 04, 2009, About: Inside Jagodzinski's struggles
FIU has Mario Cristobal as its HC, and he's building his team on south Florida speed, and gets a lot of what the Canes don't get. They've got a Soph named TY Hilton who is lighting fast, and makes big plays on the field. I can see FIU passing FAU for 5th best in FL (behind UF, FSU,UM and USF). After FIU: UCF, JU, FAMU, etc.
Posted Sunday August 30, 2009, About: Michigan players allege NCAA violations
The GT offense is so fun, I'm tempted to drive an hour south to Land Shark in a few weeks to see them run it v. Miami Canes. They got pwned last year, and will struggle to adjust for the rematch. We'll see...

It' is...you must be a MichiGrad: From Dictionary.com

???adjective abounding in notable history; having an illustrious past; storied: Italy is a richly historied land.

Nice try...just sayin'
Posted Saturday August 29, 2009, About: Vols name freshman RB co-starter
Both the freshmen will be greeted rudely by the Gators. Too bad the Canes don't get to line up against UTenn this year...would've been a great storyline (as it is Richardson may regret, if even for a day, leaving UF for UT). All the Gators I know are CHOMPING waiting on this game. It'll be fun to watch...but except for UF fans, likely only for the first quarter or two.
Posted Sunday August 23, 2009, About: Which writers didn't vote Gators No. 1?
I see the Gators running the table, and winning the NC. But I'm not a Gator fan...so there's always joy knowing anything less than that will shatter the hearts of GatorNation. But that's a great place to be as UF players & fans. It's their's to lose. Tebow is a class act, and Spikes is a change dominator. If anyone can walk thru these expectations, it this UF team.

As a Bulls fan, I want us to beat UM and FSU, and win the Big East. If we stay healthy, we can do it. GO BULLS!
Posted Sunday August 16, 2009, About: Will player-only meeting help Seminoles?
USF's Lindsey Lamar may be used as a Percy Harvin type, to utilize his quicks. Not saying he's as good or touted as the Big 3 top frosh, but he's had an excellent camp.

DE Ryne Giddins is our highest ranking recruit ever, but may redshirt due to the USF D-line depth.

Seth, you know I want someone...anyone...to drop UF this year, but I really believe that won't happen. UF is SOOO deep & talented, and Tebow/Spikes are focused on going undefeated their senior years. Their schedule is not weak this year, but it's easier than last year's. I see UF getting challenged in the SEC Champ game & NC game...but winning both.

Good luck Florida school...except when you're playing USF. GO BULLS!
Posted Friday August 14, 2009, About: Will player-only meeting help Seminoles?
Maybe, but I like our chances better this year, with Grothe and Selvie as seniors, and FSU having some issues. But the Doak is homer friendly, so I expect to be 10 pt dogs, but hope we're up to it. I'll be there wearing my Bulls jersey, pulling for the Green. I'd rather lose to FSU than not take on the big boys. We get UM in Tampa in Nov, then the real scary game: 9/11/10 in The Swamp. That will be ugly...but again, I'm happy to be playing the best.
Posted Friday August 14, 2009, About: Will player-only meeting help Seminoles?
I'll be pulling for FSU to beat UM...barely, and in a VERY physical game. Then I want FSU to barely beat BYU in a slugfest. Then my 3-0 Bulls travel to Tally, and knock FSU into 4th on the Big Four Florida teams.

Meanwhile, UM runs the table till 11/28, when Grothe & Selvie play their final game at RayJay by pounding Miami. That's my dream...but that's why they play the games!

BTW, I'm no Gator fan, but I don't see anyone beating them this year, unless some team really breaks out & takes on UF in the NC game. I hope UF doesn't win again...the UF fans at work already unbearable. But I see it happening, barring a freak upset (and Tebow/Spikes will clean up on awards...deservedly so).
Posted Friday August 14, 2009, About: Will player-only meeting help Seminoles?
Maybe you're both right. Let's hope for a trifecta: USF over FSU on 9/26!
