I keep hearing about these anual losses to A&M and OU. So.. what's your point? USC loses to Cal and Stanford on a regular basic, A&M loses to.. well, just about everyone on a regular basic, and Florida manages to lose to their rivals as well. If you'll notice, a national champion usually does not finish the season undefeated.
And lastly, besides being one of the most consistently winning programs in the country (10 wins or more the last 7 years), Texas achieved 10 wins last season with an offensive line that sustained injuries all year, to three starters. Now that the line will be solid again, Colt McCoy will produce numbers as he did his freshman year before the injury, and the defense will be solid as well. The last time Texas pulled the d-coridinator from Auburn, we won the title. So, good quarterback + solid o-line + solid D = championship.
