First off, he can't even work out next year or participate in the Combine because the 49ers hold his rights until Midnight on Draft night, so he's screwed there.

If I were the 49ers GM, here is what I would do. When I picked in the 4th round, I would select Crabtree again, see how that works out for him, if he sits out again, so be it. 2 years out of football, he won't get drafted, until I pick him in the 7th round, and I would repeat that process to keep him out of football.
