Posted Friday January 30, 2009, About: Gators recruit may try four sports
In response to this article, no way Richardson plays 4 sports. Just ain't going to happen. He may be talented, but he has a whole lot of building to do on that little frame. Once Mickey Marotti gets his hands on him, he won't have time for anything else but school and gym. Meyer and Co. recruited him to play football, and I'll guarantee they get their return on investment.

As far as this little conference basketball debate. I saw a real interesting stat during the Gator game the other night about the 8 SEC tourney teams from last year and their age comparisons against the rest of the NCAA. Georgia has the oldest team (ranked like 275 out of 344 Div I teams). The rest of the seven teams are younger than that (Florida is like 320 out of 344). So.......to completely blasphemize the SEC as a whole, is a little unfair at this point. If I remember correctly, the SEC has won 2 out the last 3 National Championships....thumping all those "other" conferences along the way. The Gators might not be the team this year, but I GUARANTEE, next year will be a special year.

I agree with most of what you said PebbleBeach, but I thought the idea of College Football (or any sport) is to win, not just produce players for the next level. Finding that balance is the key. Again, I heard the "Spread" wouldn't work in the SEC (much less in all of the NCAA) because it is this so-called "Gimmick".......looks like it's thriving pretty well to me.

The biggest hangup to me with the spread, is the additional workload (and hits) the QB must endure in order to make it truly work. For the spread to truly work, the QB has to be a threat to run, and he actually has to run from time-to-time.

I couldn't agree more Truth!
Posted Monday January 28, 2008, About: Howard critical of Rodriguez hire
Well, all I heard for years is that the spread couldn't work in the SEC.......that has definitely been proven wrong..........what's to say the spread won't eventually work in the NFL? We already see some teams running variations of it already. I think the biggest problem in the NFL is that they haven't had the right QB yet that can successfully run it and stay healthy.

I think this story would hold more water if they could've found someone other than Desmond Howard to speak on their behalf........seriously, the guy can't spell his own name without a producer putting it on the teleprompter.

Thought I'd seen it all until I seen a Wolverine (The Truth) sticking up for a Buckeye......you are a joke Truth, stop addressing me.

The puppies will get spayed (or nutured) in Jax next year. Yes the defense is a bit porous, but we will outscore God next year. Don't sing it, just bring it puppies! Win the conference first, then we will talk NC.

Too bad it ain't helping their school very much though.....sounds like a buncha individuals go to the "You".
Posted Tuesday December 18, 2007, About: Gordon names new crew chief
As long as he keeps making right turns he will always be a lineup filler....
Posted Tuesday December 18, 2007, About: Rodriguez making changes at UM
IMHO, this was a better hire. Miles is an idiot. I'm glad he's staying in the SEC, along with Fulmer (although it looks like he's the only one on the Tennessee crew staying).

KRAZ: It's nice to see someone that isn't completely blinded by their own bias. No doubt, defense wins championships, offense sells tickets.
Posted Monday December 17, 2007, About: Inside Florida recruiting wars
With teams from Miami winning the 4A, 5A, and 6A state titles, it's quite obvious that the Miami area is rich in talent. However, is Shannon the one to not only recruit these guys, but will he be able to mold them into a cohesive unit able to get along as a team and win games? That's where the coaches earn their money!
Posted Monday December 17, 2007, About: Inside Florida recruiting wars
About as much chance as everyone was giving Florida last year in the title game, and we see how that turned out.......If I was OSU (and I'm so glad I'm not), I would be happy that no one is giving me a chance.

Awful timely that he figured it out now......
Posted Thursday December 06, 2007, About: Who will win Heisman Trophy?
You are so confused Captain that you don't even know what the conversation is about anymore. It's probably because you have had so many facts thrown at you that it's getting hard to comprehend.

No one was ripping on Hawaii until you guys "tried" to infuse your delirious claims to be among the nations elite. Whining about other schools (Florida being one of them) that recruit better, have more money, more media exposure etc. If you don't like it, then Hawaii should man up, match the money, play more quality games, and get the exposure you think you deserve. Unfortunately for you, instead of exposure, you are going to get "exposed".

I was just going to post your whole schedule in there localboy54, but I know I don't need to. Anyone with any sense knows the facts. I regret being drawn into this debacle. To actually think I could make any sense out of any of this...... I never thought I would say this, but I kinda miss arguing with Dogs, Vols, and Seminoles because they at least have a leg to stand on.

If that's the best you got Mele, my work is done here.......

Good luck in the Sugar because you guys are gonna need it. Just promise me one thing......puh-lease promise me you will come back for the post-game humiliation (notice I substituted celebration for humiliation.....nevermind)....
Posted Thursday December 06, 2007, About: Dodgers not done after Jones deal
You Dodger fans will realize real fast why Andruw is a valuable everyday player. The outs that he accounts for each week with his glove is truly amazing. Coming into this year, he averaged more innings per season than any other player over the last 10 years. Yes he had a down year with the stick (and who is really worth $18 mil to play a game anyway), he will be a valuable addition to any team. Just don't expect him to hit over .265.

You Hawaii fans sure are doing your best to get me fired up! You guys don't wanna start talking stats/recruiting/budget etc. I can sympathize with you a bit for the geographical isolation and the fact that most people are sleeping when you are playing your games (although we'd probably still be sleeping watching you play the likes of Charleston Southern, Northern Colorado, New Mexico State), BUT, until you man up, look at the facts that you ARE NOT a top tier football program (to include $$$, resources, facilities), you are not going to get the respect that you are seeking so hard to achieve. Be happy that you got included to the BCS party and that your boy Brennan was invited to shake the Heisman's hand and rub elbows with real football players!

No matter what happens, I think it's a slap in the face that UCF's Kevin Smith won't be there. What an amazing year the kid had.
