Steve Howe was well traveled. The fortunate/unfortunate thing about Howe was he was a lefty pitcher with a powerful arm, a rarity. But that was then. The Yankees today would not touch Howe and most likely will not touch Hamilton. The distractions in NY are too great. If Hamiltons issues are related to his marriage, the Yankees will remember how Chuck Knoblauch handled his divorce (when he couldn't find first base). Just ask Keith Olberman.

They can still be called the NY Islanders.
Posted Sunday January 16, 2011, About: Will Yankees dump Joba?
Joba is not a starter. He does not possess the arm strength nor the command of more than three pitches. As a starter he throws in the mid to high 80's. As a reliever he can get it up to high 90's. This gives him more room to offset his pitches from heat to off-speed stuff. Which experts say you need a 12 MPH differential. Let him air it out for as long as he can from the pen.

Joba is not a starter. Period. Never possessed the conditioning to go deep in the game. Nor has the command of more than three pitches. Better in the bullpen where he can air it out with a limited arsenal.
Posted Monday July 19, 2010, About: All-Star Game reason for subpar Price?
One inning per pitcher is more than enough. Years ago the starter would go 3 innings. Then again, I would turn off the TV or change channels when the starters began leaving the game by the 6th inning. Oftentimes, the game was decided by a third stringer. Still, the game was an exhibition game and should be treated that way again. Today's format is not realistic. The team with the best win/loss record should have home field advantage or bring it back to alternating leagues. The fans should not vote. This is nothing more than a marketing ploy by MLB. The current makeup to stars is no better than having a fantasy makeup of stars. Lets bring back meritocracy.
