I wrote this almost 2 weeks ago. I hate to say it, but I told you so.

A 3 year contract is not a long term deal. Why wait until next year? Do you really think there is no owner out there that would love to pick up T.O.? Even at 34 he still is a dominant #1 receiver. let's say Jerry does wait until next year and has to outbid another owner, he still has to adhere to the salary cap. I'm not saying the Cowboys should give him a huge contract, but somewhere in the neighborhood of 3yrs/$27 million/$15 million guaranteed. About the same as Moss. Why not? Owens is just as good, and it would pretty much be the same contract Owens signed when he got here. The cap has gone up since then and Owens is older, it kind of evens out.

There is no way the Cowboys will cut or trade Roy this year, the cap hit would be too great. I say give him a chance to prove he is worth keeping. If not, the cap hit next year won't be so bad. I have a feeling that he will be better in his second year under Wade's defense. He will also have the benefit of having Dave Campo coaching him again.

Jerry works miracles. No other owner is so dedicated to winning than Jerry. The cowboys picking up pacman on a sweetheart of a deal just improves a solid defense. If he screws up again, we cut all ties and move on. But I don't think he will. Pacman has to know if he screws up 1 more time he is gone for life. Where else can he make 700K in one year?

I can understand running up the score on the Redskins, a team they will not see for awhile, but running up the score on divisional teams? They are just begging to be made an example of! They ran up the score on Miami a couple of weeks ago and they will see them again. Not that I think Miami has a chance at beating them, but I would guess there are few players for Miami that didn't appreciate the Patriots running up the score like they did. I

I am sure Romo will get a deal to his liking, Jerry always takes care of his star players. I just hope this MEGA deal doesn't hurt the Cowboys chances of re-signing other key players like T.Newman.

Now let's see, Jason Garrett was a QB coach in Miami 2 years before Jerry Jones hires him as his offensive coordinator. Even if Garrett continues to dismantle opposing defenses, his chance won't come for a few years. And when that chance does come, I bet it will be Dallas promoting him to head coach. Jerry Jones knew what he was doing when he signed Garrett before Wade Phillips. Jason Garrett will be the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, just give him a few years.

I think we might see Jerry go after Tank. Even though he has had some problems recently, it's not like Jerry isn't accustomed to players running in with the law. This injury paired with Ellis and Newman really sets the Boys D back. By the way how many games is Tank suspended for? Because even if the boy's do sign Tank, Ratliff will have to fill in until then.

I don't know if Caldwell is that much better than the Cowboys third WR Sam Hurd or even fourth WR Miles Austin. At some point these guys have got to step up and prove their worth. I think signing Caldwell would be stopping any progress that might be made by those young WR. It's only week 1, it's no time to panic. Now if Hurd and Austin can't assert themselves as a solid #3 then maybe in a few weeks look to sign a free agent or possibly look to trade for a quality #3. Maybe Glenn will be back by then, and Crayton can go back to his #3 spot and all would be well.
