with that in mind let me get the usual debate going, haha what a joke Adu is he is SO overrated, what a loser! He's not like Gio, he's awesome and has achieved way more than Adu EVER will!

There, now for those who don't know i'm joking i'm glad to hear that he is going elsewhere, and hopefully that means some serious PT, especially as a starter. He is still has a very bright future and i'm sure he will continue to develop and grow, please for his own sake, the sake of the USMNT and for the love of god for the CONCACAF (who I am starting to really get fed up with). Hope it works out well for Freddy.

oh yeah and...

Once again good business does not equal good futbol, that has been proven time and time again, I actually feel sorry for the true die hard RM fans (I have several friends who are) because this money could be spent so much more wisely, starting with a youth system to DEVELOP talent (like CUtigerssoccer said) rather than just pay exorbitant amounts of money for top talent only to find they have no chemistry.

Your imagination can run wild with what could be and you can make up any number of fantasy league RM teams but the reality is selling tickets and jerseys will not help them win La Liga much less advance past the round of 16 in the Champions League YET AGAIN. Though on the plus side you will have a nice CR9 RM jersey to wipe away all the bitter tears...YET AGAIN!

Posted Thursday June 11, 2009, About: Mexico's Giovani back to Spain on loan?
OK, everyone get a grip neither Adu nor Gio are overrated, they are simply young and inexperienced players, give them time please and get off their back, they both need time and a lot more PT, in 3-5 the picture will become alot more clear if they were all hype or not, personally I think they will both be great players. Gio would have never gotten an PT on that incredible Barca team, i mean even Bojan is complaining about his PT and he will likely need to get loaned out this summer also, so don't knock Gio for leaving he had to if he wants to continue to grow and develop. Gio coming in yesterday certainly gave Mexico an extra push, but it was of course again T&T (sorry J) and it also didn't make a difference since no more goals were scored, but that's a whole nother story.

After yesterday i cannot agree more abouot Nery but also Guille Franco, man I CANNOT stand that guy, I have never liked him, what happened to Carlitos Vela? I know right? please put Arellano in, that kid is great! Anyway, what about Tehmoc Blanco, wow a full 90 minutes? Good for him, he has played with more pride and guts than 90% of the team!

I will be at the FC Barcelona vs Galaxy game on Aug 1st but to Becks I say stay in Europe, enough is enough! All the hype and hoopla made over this clown coming to the US was such a joke, as a matter of fact Lando can stay of the Galaxy too, they seem to finally win without him! LOL

As for CR7 and RM, two divas made for each other! Have we learned nothing from Galacticos experiment v1.0??? It's going to be real funny to watch them keep losing and eventually file for BK, no bailout for YOU!!!
Posted Wednesday June 10, 2009, About: Mexico's Giovani back to Spain on loan?
Ahh Gio Gio Gio! He should have never left Barca to begin with and then he goes to the EPL where no Mexican players have been successful due to the faster and more physical pace they play, the coach that brought him gets canned and he ends up riding the pine the rest of the season except for a few games in a 2nd division english league. I sure hope he does go back to La Liga where he should have stayed from day 1. He needs to play regularly and keep developing and growing for 2 reasons: for the sake of his own career and his country needs him in the worst way right now. He is still young and has a TON of potential but please be more humble and start making better decisions Gio.

i will say that i do hope the officiating is much better, the CONCACAF has some of the absolute worst refs, they need to make better calls and protect the players more. They allow way too many cheap shots. It will definitely be a good test for the US, that place will be very unfriendly.

Wow, I can't believe this is the same T&R site, all this support and non-Mexico bashing haha it reminds me of that commercial with fans of college rivalries being all nice to each other.
I just think that it's important to respect everyone's point of view and listen and consider it before you go straight to bashing.

That's cool that you will be rooting for the Ticos! As has been mentioned everyone getting better and playing better will only make the other teams better, whether they be large or small teams. They know where the bar is and where they have to be to improve.

2 very good points. First I feel like I do have a vested interest here in the US, my friends, family the freedom, rights and life i live are all part of it. And unless it was in Cancun, I don't think I could live in Mexico, there are way too many problems there from the drug cartels to the poverty, its very unstable. But I also have very strong ties and roots to my heritage so yeah it isn't easy.

Second, I agree and I hate to see that kind of behavior from anyone but especially Mexico's NT, I think and feel that as that "generation" of players moves on and new younger group comes in there will be less and less animosity and hatred and more respect. I think part of that will be the mentality changing due to the progress that the US MNT and the MLS is making here in the states. But seeing that kind of behavior from Marquez and Sanchez is shameful and reprehensible.
Posted Thursday March 26, 2009, About: Castillo lashes out at media
Yeah I have noticed that on this site their aren't many fans of Mexico or its MNT and that's cool and i don't mind a difference of opinion, so long as that respect is in place, it's all good.

BTW anyone think the game against El Salvador will be an easy one? They have made a lot of strides so it should be a good match and it sure wont be easy in El Salvador.

There are and I'm one of them, and yes PAWN it is possible.

I root for the US till they play Mexico, sure I grew up not liking the US but only when they played Mexico, seeing as how I live in the states and owe a lot to this country how can I not want the beautiful sport to grow, thrive and improve here. Especially when you see how the US is one the few countries who are not insanely crazy about the sport.

Dude, dean on AGAIN. That wasn't the only thing he said, he also asked him if he was a traitor! Are you **** kidding me?!?! a Mexican reporter calling out one the top talents Mexico currently has and bashing him at a news conference. That's why Nery turned around and said "you and me outside right now!" This non sense has to stop i wont go as far as to say the media is responsible for everything currently going on with the MNT but i will say they are to blame for all this bad media and bad hype they are creating, even though it was just a friendly the game that Mexico played against Bolivia is a great building block to create something positive and build on it going into a WC qualifier but instead they want to criticize bash and beat down the players and anything they are trying to accomplish.

Sorry guys I'm really worked up about the whole situation with Mexico's MNT. I just hope Nery and the rest of the fellas show that same passion, fire and intensity on the pitch on Sat and shut all these idiots up just like C. Blanco recently said.

it's a good thing you DIDN'T say that! LOL

The bottom line is you are right, all 3 are too young to say they failed and they were/are over hyped, give it time. we are too used to demanding and having result NOW, everything is now, now, NOW. That's why so many teams/countries are going thru players and coaches like they are going out of style. I truly believe given more PT and experience all 3 will live up to their potential. But IMO it is definitely WAY too soon to say they failed.
Posted Thursday March 26, 2009, About: Castillo lashes out at media
well it's pretty obvious that in mexico the sport is WAY bigger than it is here so it doesn't make headlines, but the media in Mexico is way out of control and this is an actual news conference with the players sitting down and taking questions this isn't a paparazzo on their way to the airport or restaurant type setting that we are talking about.
Have a little more tact and respect when asking questions to professional players, that's my point.

ABSOLUTE dead on! The mexican media is so bad and so desperate for stories they started speculating that he was hammered from his long flight to Mexico and that's why he didn't want to appear in front of the cameras when the truth is they had the wrong flight number and were waiting at the wrong terminal. I agree he could have been a little more political about how he reacted but ENOUGH is ENOUGH, the Mexican media is out of control and they have put mexican celebrities lives at risk all to take a picture or get in front of them to ask rude or ignorant questions.
They should be there to ask and field questions about FUTBOL and that's it! so bravo Nery for standing up to them, i also agree you can't be so fickle and sour about the current situation with the Men's Nat. Team they need try to be more supportive and positive and stop creating lies just to sell newspapers, the reality is the team owners are more to blame for the current situation. Yeah things are not well and its obvious but this is the last thing players need right now!
Posted Monday March 23, 2009, About: Eto'o wants to stay at Barca
EXACTLY, so if it ain't broke...

...DO NOT FIX IT!

I hope Eto'o can end his career at Barca. But we definitely owe him a contract extension. If their dream season continues and they can win the trifecta of silverware, I would expect to see little changes to the team.
Posted Friday March 13, 2009, About: Agent: Villa not leaving Valencia
I agree 100% and having him would put more pressure on Eto'o to resign at a reasonable rate and make sure Titi keeps performing so well, he's a great backup plan as well but as much as I'd love him to come to Barca I think Hova is right and RM will outbid and add on another striker rather than fixing their midfield, If it is true I'm glad we won't be following the money trail, and it's too bad Valencia is having so much money trouble.
Posted Thursday March 12, 2009, About: Cech linked to FC Barcelona
Though I agree that a new GK is needed, I don't think either one would be my first choice . I would rather they get a younger keeper who can stay for awhile. Or bring in one of them and bring in someone to replace them in 2-3 years someone like Memo Ochoa comes to mind but there are younger cheaper options who are equal or better than Valdes.

I agree that a team like Madrid would sell their firstborn for a player of that caliber but madrid is the exception and not the rule in La Liga, Barca in particular likes to develop players and bring them up the ranks.
Posted Tuesday February 10, 2009, About: Hiddink linked to Chelsea job
I am just as upset, amazed and puzzled. A constant changing of coaches only contributes to the problems this team already has. Even Fergie came out and admitted as much. That's part of the problem with many teams/countries such as Mexico. You need to get a good coach and stick with him for awhile, look at the success of many teams including Man U. I hope Chelsea gets it together soon because I also hear there are rumors of Abramovich wanting to sell the team now too.
But on Guus coaching for the remainder of the season and then bringing in ANOTHER new coach...yeah that will DEFINITELY help! So Absurd!!!

Posted Tuesday December 30, 2008, About: Turkish club after Houston's Boswell
If this does happen which would probably be good for Boswell, Houston is going to have a difficult time replacing him as well as DeRosario. Cruz Azul already beat them to Luis Angel Landin so they still need a quality replacement for DeRosario, and losing Boswell also will not help.
Posted Monday December 29, 2008, About: Reports: Arsenal to sign Arshavin
Yeah I tought Zenit was demanding outrageous amounts of money for him, I'm a little skeptical also since I thought Arsenal said they weren't spending any money. Although losing Cesc is a huge blow for them so they might be forced to spend now. I hope this does happen it would be interesting to see how he does with Arsenal and in the EPL, here's his big chance to prove the Euro's were no fluke.
