I wonder if the Cubbies could void the remainder of Soriano's contract if they could show he misrepresented his age. The Cubbies will continue to sabotage their chances if they keep starting him just because of his large contract.

Too many player regress while playing for Lovie and then play better elsewhere. Too much believing in his players and his system and not enough looking for better alternatives. It was stupid of Lovie to have "red-shirted" Earl Bennett last year.

Yeah, i like Rogers. He won't win the game but gets good enough stats that it looks as if he isn't the problem. There is going to be a long spell of mediocrity or worse in Green Bay, especially when their older players, like Woodson Harris and Driver, start retiring.

So what? They should have made him compete for the job. If Rogers is better, as 50yearfan says, Rogers will start. How can Favre complain about that?At some point, he would have retired. Instead they trade Favre and incite all kinds of hate between him and Packer management/fans.

If Rogers is better than Favre, why didn't the Packeers let them complete for the starting job instead of trading Favre to the Jets? The Packers knew that Favre would beat out Rogers so they didn't want to let them compete.

Favre is still better than Rogers because he is very good at pulling out a win at the end of a close game. Rogers still hasn't learned when to throw the ball away to avoid a sack. He is way overdue to learn that.

I predict Charlie Weis will be the next head coach of the Packers. They like big fat coaches in Green Bay who are offense specialists that can mentor QBs.

Every GM knows that the longer they let this drag on, the more of Bradley's contract the Cubbies will have to eat. That assumes, of course, that some GM wants Bradley on his team. I'm not sure why anyone would want Bradley.

Wow! It's great having my own stalker who follows me around, commenting about me instead of the fan nation threads I post in.

I'm really glad the Cubbies are bringing back Kennedy, Hendry and Piniella. Surprising that they couldn't pull off a wild card berth in the weaker league even though they got to play so many games against the Reds, Astros and Pirates. I expect to have another enjoyable season in 2010 commenting about Cubbie games.

I hadn't realized that Soriano's knees had been telling him to swing at breaking balls far outside the strike zone. Do they also tell him he should be leading off?

Go ahead and dream that Soriano will have a great season next year (Cubbie fans are nothing if not delusional) but I think his 40 year old body will say something else.
