OK folks I'm done with this thread. Suffice it to say that until we have a playoff we're going to keep dealing with this every year. If TX beat OU and Tech beat TX and OU blew out Tech who deserves to go to the championship game? If TX over OU because of the head to head win then by the same logic you have to put Tech ahead of TX but OU stomped Tech and blah blah blah what a headache. And thus I leave you with that same magic word I've been screaming for years now: PLAYOFF PLAYOFF PLAYOFF!!!

Yeah I guess the defensive CAPTAIN doesn't make much difference in a game especially when he's playing in the middle linebacker position huh? And as far as the Tech game goes, your horns were lucky to have come back and made it a respectable game because in the game I watched your horns were getting the crap kicked out of them for most of it.

Defense. The D couldn't get a stop when we needed it. Even though our defensive captain went down in the game and Texas got away with an interception overturned (the decisive 10 point swing in the game) our D couldn't get a stop when we needed it. But they seem to have it figured out as was apparent when OU stomped the crap out of the team that beat your longhorns.

Actually let's not since OU still had the best record in college football that season. Texas was 10-1 and Nebraska was undefeated when Texas got that UPI title. See the logic there?

Oh I love the numbers game so I'll go next. OK here we go:

7-3 - OU NCs to TX NCs (UPI titles are meaningless because they don't count the postseason)
47 - the OU all time NCAA record winning streak
19 - number of 11 win seasons (NCAA record)
31 - number of 10 win seasons (also NCAA record)
6 - 1 - OU BigXII titles to TX BigXII Titles
97 - weeks at #1 of AP Poll (#1 in nation)
32-29 - OU conference championships to TX conference championships
.613 - .531 - OU bowl win percentage to TX bowl win percentage
And finally .717 - .717 - OU to TX all time win percentage. What does this prove? That Texas has a winning tradition and OU has a CHAMPIONSHIP tradition. Texas is to OU like Michigan is to Ohio State. Michigan wins games but OSU brings home the big hardware. (No offense Michigan fans but it is what it is)

The fact that, unlike in the past, this Tech QB had a monster season AND performed up to the same level against elite competition should have got him a spot at the ceremony. For crying out loud! He made the biggest play of the season against your team's defense in prime time on national TV. If that wasn't a Heisman caliber play I don't know what is.
