Clearly the game was taken out of it's context during the Miami game, and it was a mistake to allow all the high school and college games to be played on the field. Also, the drainage and resodding done in an attempt to dry out the turf was ineffective. Usually the field is in much better condition. No NFL player is going to choose playing on an artificial surface over grass. The Rooney's wont put it in if they don't have to.

He deserves to be annoyed. If his head wasn't so big it wouldn't of saved his life, but soon he won't be able to get his helmet on. He keeps complaining to coaches about not getting enough pass plays, while the steelers have a tendency to have kind of a phenomenal running game. By the way, a mediocre QB won the superbowl, but he did it with an incredible team behind him, give the Steelers some credit. No other team could have relied as heavily as they did on backups due to injuries and still made the playoffs.

Faneca has asked over and over again to be traded, he doesn't want to be team captain for a fourth season and he said he can't guess what kind of focus he might bring to the team and its new coach in 2007. There is nothing more annoying than when players and coaches say their performance suffers due to distraction from negotiation of their contracts.. Just play football.
Faneca flat out said "No, I don't want to be here," "It's a matter of them being able to do what they can monetarily and come after me. That's the only reason I'm here, on that chance that they would." Keeping a player with this attitude about the Steelers would be a bigger mistake than letting go of Joey.
Obviosly Faneca is an incredible guard and invavluable. No one in this franchise has ever gone to 6 pro bowls and filled in holes from injuries like him, but he doesn't like the team anymore after Rusty and Joey left.
Faneca and Ward can't keep arguing that they need loyalty from this club, blah blah, that they eat sleep and breathe steelers football, and that they deserve more money when they still want to be free agents? You can't expect to be allowed to watch out for better deals while you're running your mouth about loyalty. Treat this game like it's work and business, get as much money as you can, or treat it like you love to play and you want to sacrifice for your team. Jerome Bettis was the only example young players on this team will ever need from a veteran.

Valentin is supposed to be out for two months with a torn ACL, but he'll probably be back in like 4-5 weeks. If the Mets are scared they might try to get Tadahito Iguchi from the white sox, but he has been so bad lately I doubt it.
