For the Yankees, overpaying these players is much more beneficial than conserving cash. If you dont sign those players, public opinion plummets. If public interest decreases, so does TV viewer-ship and merchandise, and the Yankee's vast income becomes vulnerable.

The point is, The Yankees have billed themselves as the biggest market out there, and are perfectly comfortable with overpaying players.

Plus, and this is coming from a Red Sox fan, these are some high quality players. Teixeira, A-Rod, Sabathia and Jeter are nothing to sneeze at...

If things don't work out, what's the worst that could happen? The Yankees arent going to go bankrupt.

The tragic and uplifting Story of Rudedog.

After graduating high school, Rude made the very stupid choice of going into journalism. He floundered in college and worked his way into debt, but finally graduated with an undergrad.

After college, Rude went on with his dream of being a top notch reporter and columnist.

Little did he know that he had chosen a dead and terrible profession to go in to.

He lived on th streets for years, and eventually hit puberty by the age of 35. With his new vocal chords im place, Rude discovered that he had a deep, rich and melodic voice.

An actual successful reporter (ironic, isnt it?) approached him one day and shot a video with him.

The video went viral.

The Lakers called, wanting him to do the announcing at the Staples center. Rudes life had finally turned around!

And finally,m after Rude had been given a new home, did he get laid.

It took him 45 years.

THat, my friends, is the tragic and uplifting story of Rudedog.
