hey eyesWIDEopen, they said WVU would get hammered by OSU....that kinda didn't work huh. Florida State....they still have a team.....oh yeah, the ACC. The teams that had to raid 3 teams from the big least to be competitive. That really kinda backfired on your boys. The did well against the basketball team from North Carolina and beatin up Bobby's kids.....the VT, Miami and Boston College come to town and suddenly you don't hear much about FSU. Huh!

NWPA, didn't Rodriguez bring his defensive coordinator from WVU with him? I can't remember. If so, the 3-3-5 requires alot more athletic safeties and corners than Michigan normally suits up. Your gonna have to wait 2-3 years and hope for a great QB to sign on. Rodriguez already lost the first matchup to Ohio when they lost Pryor.

Michigan will soon learn that Rodriguez's system is great, but his ego is so big he kills himself with it. Look at WVU's losses over the last 2 seasons. Against teams in which White goes out, instead of relying on a running game (you have Slaton, Devine and Schmidt) you place in your backup QB and treat him just like your star. Rodriguez will not adapt his system to his players in those situations. Against PItt, in horrible weather conditions, instead of pounding the ball and setting up the pass or the spread, he tried to run all over the place and in effect cost his team a shot at the championship. Rodriguez is has and always will be an ego guy, and Michigan is going to continue to lose games to the Buckeyes an others because without a superstar QB he fails because he won't adapt to the strongest players he has. Look at his history and read the story yourself.

If you check the percentages for White he has made improvements in his accurracy each year. The problem for White was Rodriguez's system. When White would go out (see the USF games), RR would not tweek the system and rely on Slaton or Schmidt to pound the ball. They would have won against Pitt and USF if Rodriguez wasn't such a stuck up, my system rocks guy. That is why WVU KILLED OSU, they didn't stick to Rodriguez's style. Didn't you guys see the laser that White whipped 50 yards downfield in like the 3rd quarter. Beautiful pass. Devine is faster than Slaton but the problem for WVU's running game last year was that the O-Line was so inexperienced. If they give White some time, I think he can through the ball better this year. Will WVU win it all...doubt it. They took alot of losses on offense, but nobody expected them to kick OSU around the field either, so it will be interesting. White however needs to add about 15 pounds to his frame if he ever, I mean ever even thinks he will sniff an NFL team at QB.

In response to why draft a LT instead of QB at number 3. That is easy, how many QB's out there who are winning consistently are top 5 draft picks? How many top tier LT's are there in the league right now? It is easier to groom a QB into a system than develop a LT to cover them. The Browns made a smart move in the draft but they need lots of help. I expect them to be a team who pursues Tomlinson's backup (Micheal Turner) when he becomes a FA next year cause Lewis isn't the answer at RB. As far as the QB trade, the Browns blew this one bad, maybe they get something nice in return. But the problem is you go stomped by the Steelers and you will get stomped by just about everybody. And the Browns may due better than the Falcons this year. But the Falcons draft Brohm and the Boys will draft McFadden (then they can dump Julius Jones).

SI.com or ESPN.com reported that the guy who was busted with the camera on the sidelines was "escorted" from the stadium last year vs the Packers for doing the same thing. Sure would be sad to think that the only way the Pats offense can tear you up is if they know your signals.

terps, Remember that the Falcs have a #1 and 2 #2's next year because of the Schaub trade. Brohm will be a Falcon. I think that was Petrino's idea all along.

They can go after the signing bonus ONLY if he violates a clause of the contract. If character issues are in there (which is becoming more common) or conviction of a felony (I would think that is in there as well) then the Falcons have the legal right to get the money back.

Wooaahh cowboys....Tank's situation was TOTALLY different than Vick's situation. Remember that Vick stood in front of the Falcs, commish, fans, etc. and lied to them. Tank was busted and the evidence was against him, he didn't have the option to lie. The nature of Vick's situation calls for a long suspension. Remember he could get banned for life just for the gambling charges.

The Raiders would sign him. By 2010 Russell will have signed with somebody else (after the 08 draft) and Culpepper will finally be gone (2 more knee surgeries) and the Raiders love the trouble guys.

No Fonzie....he can be banned or suspended without being signed by a team. It basically says that since he is in prison and unsigned he cannot RE-sign until after the 1 year. (If what I am reading is correct)

He still could get a lifetime ban, but I don't think he would enter the plea if the lawyers knew that was coming. The league still says it is considering the options and most likely a verdict from them won't come for 1-2 weeks. But 2010 is what all of the "experts" have said all along. Guess we will see.

But like I said Kdawg, they draft Brian Brohm next year and they are good. The kid has 3 years in Petrino's system. This gives the Falcons a year for the receivers and running backs to learn the system and be ready for Brohm to come in and properly execute the entire playbook. That is a pretty good future.
