I remember thinking Roberto Kelly and Kevin Maas were going to be the saviors. I'm not spoiled, we had a good run. Between age and the passing of The Boss, massive changes were to be expected.

That is if a team is dealing w/ the player directly, signing him to a contract and providing the former team compensation.

If the team currently holding a player's rights negotiates a trade with someone, then the Franchise Tag doesn't mean anything. If the player signed the tender, then that is his 1 year contract w/ the other team. If he hasn't, then you would think once compensation has been negotiated, then there would be a window of time for the acquiring team to come to terms with the player long term.

I can't think of any 2-#1 pick Franchise players changing hands. Curtis Martin and Laveranues Coles were both acquired for a #1 & a #3.
