I had high hopes for booty once too. Then I graduated from college... Then age caught up with me... Dang it.
I'm sorry, what was I talking about?
They must be idiots.

RIGHT ON! Apparently this kid didn't go to church, weddings, funerals, or any other formal-type occasions? If I tried to pull that when I was a kid, my mom would've ripped it off my back and burned it after a month...

Right, but Soriano is a sub par (or average at best) OF who had no business being out there in the ninth inning of a close game which happens to be his first game back...
Reed Johnson should've been in left. It was an "Aw ****" on Lou's part. That's probably why he was so angry. He knew he blew it. It happens to the best of 'em.

Sorry I was so cranky before. I am tired of NFL fans taking shots at Urlacher.
A team also doesn't get ranked 28th against the run because ONE PLAYER is slowing down a bit. The entire defense was to blame for last season. Hanging it on Urlacher is unfair, and as a former football player you should know better. The D-line was banged up and darn near useless against the run. Mark Anderson bit on every counter/fake that was thrown at him. Darwin Walker was hurt and/or useless. Adam Archuleta was/is useless.
Yes, I understand that Urlacher lost half a step last season. Yet, he still had the most impact plays of anyone who plays his position in the NFL. I know he is entering the twilight of his career. For the record, I think he's got two or three ears left in the tank.
Just let me know one thing: Since when is 6'5", 250 lbs. undersized for a middle linebacker?
BTW, Urlacher had plenty of big games for the Bears. Here, check this out:

Have a nice day. :)
buckybadger | 04/23/08, 04:07 PM
In Lovie Smith's defense, the D-line is just as responsible for stopping the run. Urlacher's stats back up my opinion that he is the best MLB in the NFL. I don't care how well he is "ratted" or how fast he can remove his underwear.
Stop picking on one or two games, we all know you're right about the fact that he (and the rest of the D) had some terrible games last season, but he came on strong after bye week when he was supposedly suffering from his injury, which was to his NECK. The media has mentioned something about arthritis in his back, but that condition supposedly doesn't exist depending on which medical doctors you talk to.
You got me on the stats, though. Urlacher was #1 for the Bears in tackles. That's what I get for going from memory... Now how about you go back to "tackeling" your grammar lessons?
If this was a TD, you'd have lost because you're not backing up anything you say with anything but attacks on the entire Bears' D, which everyone knows had a bad year.
BTW, I didn't call you any names...
Are you sure you didn't suffer a *head* injury in football? :P

RabidDog08 | 04/23/08, 03:12 PM
Well, I'll be floored if that turns out to be true...
"I judge MLB by the teams rushing defense."
Then you're lost. Urlacher is a unique player who can do a whole lot more than just tackle a running back. He is a disruptive force at MLB. If you take away everything but the tackles, of course he won't stack up... Duh.
"Sure he lead his team in tackles but that defense wasn't good last year."
Briggs led the Bears in tackles last year, but Urlacher outplayed him by far when it comes to "impact plays" like sacks, passes defended, and turnovers.
"People still feed off their reputation."
Michael Vick made a living off his reputation. Brian Urlacher has the numbers to back up his reputation, even with his struggles in 2007, he was the best all-around MLB in the NFL.
"The team needs to be rebuilt and what better way to do this than trade you best player with the biggest name. Do something like a the Herschal Walker trade. I know you will never get a deal like that but you can probably get a 1st or two draft picks for him right now."
Name five teams that are in such desperate need for a stud MLB that they would give up their number one pick for Urlacher... Now how many of those teams have salary cap space to pay a MLB what the Bears are paying Urlacher?
"Back problems don't go away. This guy is past his prime and yes he isn't the best MLB in the division anymore."
Name ONE MLB in his division that is better than he is and why you think they are better, and I will explain to you why you are wrong...
"He went away in to many games last year cause of his back. That is going to be a reoccurring injury."
Are you also a doctor, or just someone who doesn't know a whole lot about football?
...
"Bears GM won't budge for Urlacher"
Who cares? Let it be known that the NFC North belongs to the Vikings from this day forth!
Go Vikings!
Go Lakers!
Drunk Eli (Purple & Gold) | 04/23/08, 02:13 PM
...
Well, the title of the T&R nugget is misleading. Angelo has offered Urlacher an extra $1 million per year, plus a $5 million signing bonus. So he has budged, he's just not going to budge any further... ;)
I'm not even going to dignify your other statements with a response... :P
Pile:
I *love* your name, but please why don't you check out NFL.com and get some stats to back your stance? Don't bother, because I already did...
Urlacher ranked #6 among MLBs for tackles, #2 in sacks for MLBs, #1 in ints, passes defended, and turnovers forced. By far, he was the best all-around MLB in the NFL last season.
"I wouldn't blame the media?" Wait until you read my blog...
Urlacher is worth more than they are paying him, but for once, I agree with T&R. The new offer the Bears gave him is fair. The Bears still want him on their team and he still wants to play in Chicago. I honestly don't see what the problem is between the two parties.
This is all media hype and politics, IMHO. I'm going to blog about this later...
