Orlando is good, but Boston was one of the greatest teams of all time...of all time!
Posted Thursday October 01, 2009, About: Hal gives Girardi vote of confidence
Not often does a former MOY and current manager of the best team in baseball get the dreaded "vote of confidence". It seems to me that Hal doesnt fully understand what the VOC is or how it is used. I am sure if he was the owner of the colts or patriots he would give the VOC to peyton or belichick, respectivly.

how do you figure that UF only played half throttle? i thought that kiffin's comments were posted all over their training facilities this summer, and that this was the largest crowd in UF history because UF was going to go all out and smother "that idiot" kiffin? from all indications, UF was bound and determined to embarrass the Vols, but they just couldn't do it. Heck even tebows td record was snapped and the **** streak of 30 plus pts in a row was ended as well. with that said, Ut proved that they are a Qb away from beating UF at the swamp. you are an idiot!

she looked scared (but smokin) the whole fight. she didn't look like she felt she could win. she might be better off attacking instead of letting cyborg spend the whole fight on the offesnsive.

they are saying it has something to do with the fact that UT wears adidas and the people at nike got to him while he was at lebron's camp. my only question is, how does where you play college ball effect who signs you to a shoe contract. you will go to the highest bidder regardless. what if you play for a nike school they will 100% offer you more money than adidas? you can't be sure. if you are a potential marketing stud, both companies will break the bank for you. i just dont get the logic

u know gaytor, the UT men's team has outright owned UF basketball for the past 4-5 years. you really shouldn't act like UT has a bad men's program. after all we are the defending SEC east champs and we are the only team in the conversation that has made the ncaa tourny the last 2 years.

now i would like to see steele at UT, however he might be thinking that he wants to be more than just josh shelbey's back up

again, arena played three in the back in 02 with a less talented group and reached the quarters. this formation works as long as the wingers make there way back, and the center defensive mids, and defenders are good at clearing/defending crosses
Posted Monday July 06, 2009, About: Will Bradley make U.S. team moves?
total futbol suicide? if i remeber correctly, the 3-5-2 formation was the same one used by arena in 02 that garnered so much success at the world cup. the only real issue would be dempsey on the right side as it appears from the confed cup that he doesn't have the stamina/desire to trek back on defense. donovan showed me a lot as he covered the whole pitch playing both defense and offense thus showing that he could handle it.
this formation does have its draw backs, potential disaster on the wings, however its strengths, more goal opportunities/ keeping the ball out of our defending third, seems to make a lot of sense especially considering that a quality team will eventually break through our bunker down defense-ex one Bazil 3 USA 2.
i know it is a gamble, but considering the alternative, i think it is worth it.

if bradley were smart, he would use a formation like a 3-5-2 because that puts the americans best players on the feild at all times.

rb-spector
cb-gooch
lb-bocanegra
rcdm-jones
lcdm-bradley
cm-feilhaber
ram-dempsey
lam-donovan
st-jozy

this line up has plenty of defense with gooch, spector, boca, bradley, jones, and has a pretty powerful offensive punch with feilhaber controlling the midfeild. the issue would be getting outflanked as the 5 primary defenders would be bunched more in the middle (and i am not sold on whether boca has the speed to handle it as the 2 outside defenders have to be amongst the fastest players on the feild, or whether gooch can keep his mistakes to a minimum as he seems mistake prone, but that could just me me), and donovan and dempsey would have to cover more ground. however. 5 mids plus the addition of feilhaber would allow the us to control the ball for longer periods of time, and thus avoid the bunker down style against spain. (i know it worked then, but it is not conducive to long term success). it would also allow us to get more attempts on goal which equals more goals.

that is a strong line up, and with guys like torres, castillo, feilhaber, clark etc on the bench i am predicting another quarter finals result from the yanks
