26 Titles you're thinking of Derrek Lee. Jeter has never been even an above average fielder. He was average when he was young, but now he is older and slower. If he wasn't the face of the Yankees, he would have been moved to second so that A-Rod could play short, because he is a far superior defensive shortstop.

The Bulls never lowballed Gordon They offered him a 5 year $50 million extension over the summer that he felt was an insult. $50 million for a 6th man, who will never be more than a microwave, is pretty damn good. He should have taken the deal when he had the chance. Same thing with Deng when he was offered 5 years $56 million. These guys need to realize they are mediocre fish in the talent pond.

Beasley is a combo forward, we already have a boatload of those with Deng,Nocioni,Thomas,and Noah. Rose is who we should draft and this deal will make perfect sense if the Heat can extend Marion so that the contracts are a wash.

His base salary for 2009 is roughly 5 million. Thats more than enough to help any family for generations. I understand his argument that it's the NFL and careers aren't long, but he needs to understand that this is the NFL and careers aren't long. He isn't getting younger and he needs to realize that they can't invest a huge new contract in someone who is getting closer to the end. The best thing for him to ask for is a few years added on to the current contract and have it restructured for more of the money upfront.

Nobody had a gun to his head. He could have waited to hear the offer from the Bulls if he really wanted to coach them that badly. The pieces he will have in New York are an even worse fit for his offense. everyone is a mistake hitter. the pitchers arent trying to let you get a hit. if you think about it every single hit ever has been on a mistake. having said that thomas is just getting old but he still feels hes a centerpiece. he needs to hang em up and bow out somewhat gracefully. as for the earlier stuff hes definitely a HOFer. he didnt invent the DH position. if it didnt exist he would have been playing first base his whole career because his bat wouldnt be on the bench. same thing with all DH's its not their fault the position exists, so dont crap on them for playing it

the guy can't find the plate with both hands. marshall has been just as good as hill in the same time frame. hill is already 28 and is just starting to crack the bigs, its time for the cubs to stop hoping that he will catch up to the potential that kept him in the minors for most of his career.
