Good post. I think with a kid like this, you need to have supportive veteran players around. Vikes did it with Randy Moss, having Cris Carter put him under his wing. Did it work? But when he came to New England he knew he couldn't get away with that crap. The Pats and Blackmon could work well for each other.
No wonder a lot of teams will choose character over troubled talent. You have to be really sure about a sketchy guy coming into a locker room and making a mess out of everything. Some are so good, they have no choice to hope for the best, but Blackmon now carries a lot of baggage. I'm sure another team will take him on, but there will definatley be a few clauses in his contract. Sadly I can see this kid with no money when he is older.
When I saw it, I thought no way would a player ever - ever do something like that to a fellow player. But then I saw it was Cooke --- hmmm. By the way, how am I supposed to write something when the swim suit models next to the comment box keep luring my eyes towards them? Not fair... mmmm hello Kate! Do you like fat, hairy married men?
How can they trade away a great two-way player who is still years away from his prime? They will never get full value in the trade because he hasn't put up any huge numbers, yet. If I'm a GM I wouldn't be afraid to pull the trigger for this kid.
Agreed. I'm surprised they fired the coach after starting the year with a rookie QB and running back. 2-years didn't seem like a good chance. Go with anyone, but stay away from Gruden -- Jon that is.
