Cassidy, I completely agree but I think you mistake my silence as a form of abandonment...no that simply wasn't the case, the few entries that I checked out on your blog were all about sports other than football..unfortuantly I have very limited knowledge about sports other than football. I've said that repeatedly that I only really follow football...so I didn't comment or vote cause quite frankly I don't know anything about soccer, hockey, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, water polo, field hockey....if its not about football I got nothing! Please also note that for about two and half months I was gone from fannation completely....I didn't write anything or even read the site period!

Eagle thanks for stopping by. I will acknowledge that he does a tab bit with the Cardinals charities but I do think it's ridiculous to be one of the 50 highest paid celebrities in America and not start your own non-profit and having a charity should never be about the spot-light. Interestingly enough most athletes that have nonprofits actually conduct much of their charity work on the low. Furthermore, I think a lot of my disappointment stems from the fact that he is an educated young successful black man and all too often young minority children aren't given positive examples to try to emulate. Larry can be a valuable resource in the war that young black boys are fighting. From the crib the jail cell phenomenon, to high drop out rates amongst minority children to even the high incident of gang activity....these are all issue that a having a strong and positive black role model could address...and I think Larry has the ability to be just that person. If you have enough time to endorse products you should enough time to mentor some kids.

Pacer, thanks for the comments.....as for New Orleans moving up, I don't really see the need right now...unless the speculation is true that they are most interested in Sedrick Ellis, if this is true then a move would be necessary as I don't see Cincy allowing Ellis to pass by. However, if New Orleans is focused on a LB, as I suspect, then I don't see the need to move (at least no higher than 7.) But I suspect that Keith Rivers will still be on the boards at the tenth selection because the Pats really have no choice but to take a corner. (i only have NO considering Rivers and a CB, if they want a CB then a move is certainly not in the making.)

Baltimore is most probably on the phone with ATL right now attempting to make a move. Bmore must acquire a QB in this draft and considering their lack of depth, an investment in this years highest rated QB is a safe bet and almost a requirement. Plus, 8 would be WAY too high for Flacco or Brohm.

As for Gholston, I am VERY disappointed that he didn't go first, he is a personal favorite but its ok...I suspect that the top five will now go like this:

1. J. Long
2. C. Long (although St. Louis did bring V. Gholston in for a personal workout I hear that they aren't too hot for him anymore...hopefully I'm wrong as I think he is equally if not more talented than C.Long.)
3. G. Dorsey
4. V. Gholston
5. Ryan Clady; I would be shocked if Kansas takes a QB, as I said before whats the point of taking a QB when you have gapping holes on your OL?

Oh and as for the Matt Forte and Ray Rice comments, yes I read that in an article too, but I don't suspect that happening, Det. isn't passing on Stewart especially in light of the Viks rebirth with Peterson....toe injury and all, Stewart has real potential....potential that Det. desperately needs. A decent pass rusher can be acquired later...

Jayhawk, you just might be right...do you think th deal will get done?
Posted Tuesday April 22, 2008, About: Rhonnie's Mock Draft 3.0
Subzero, I agree to some extent...I don't have Jake Long going to Miami simply because of his potential contract price...Chris Long and Vernon Gholston could be acquired at a much cheaper cost (and their impacts on the team will be similar)...I'm not sure if I buy the Chris Long argument (about not needing money because he comes from it....daddy's packet's are precisely that, daddy's pockets, C. Long is owned what he is worth.) But I think the money issue is critical in the Gholston analysis.....Gholston isn't a top five guarantee....so he will be wiling to wheel and deal...I've seen tons of mocks that have him going as low as seven, so considering his options are either negotiating with Miami and going first or settling at seven with way less money. I think a Miami negotiation is in order and both sides (the franchise and Gholston profit.) We've heard a lot of teams this draft season gripe about the ridiculous cost of top five picks so each of those teams selecting early are looking for ways to beat the price tag, and taking Gholston is it....plus I hear St. Louis isn't too interested in him anymore....so his options are dwindling, time to wheel and deal his way into Miami...lol, if that makes sense! Plus, C. Long isn't so much more proven than Gholston....

I think the key word was my top ten picks...meaning personal, for my own personal reasons, thanks for your comment!
