Pitchers should just brush him back... a lot... not advocating hitting him... but send a message consistently..
Posted Monday April 21, 2014, About: Gomez defiant after latest bench-clearer
Gomez stood there like a statue admiring is fly ball which wasn't even a home run.. Pitcher had a right to call him out.. Gomez has a track record of flying off the handle if someone farts in his general direction, so the reaction isn't about racism.. it is about a player who doesn't know how to behave like an adult.. Any who has played or even watched knows, you only stand and watch the no doubters... otherwise you run out till it is gone then coast.. Gomez is an idiot...

Funny guy.. Who would have thought that such a comment could come from a Gnats fan? I am shocked.. shocked I say...
Posted Monday April 14, 2014, About: Boras blasts unnamed execs
So it is OK for Boras to over state the value of said ball players and some how that is creative marketing.. but if an Exec has an opinion (likely one closer to reality) it is a violation of the CBA.. Bora$$ is just upset that he has two rather high profile players still unsigned as that hurts his ability to land other clients and weakens his bargining position in general..

How do you figure that one? They are in first place and haven't had Kershaw healthy yet.. Billingsly could be back in about 1 month..

They most of their budget to one guy.. And expect to make that improve their team.. Unless they plan on batting him 2nd, 5th and 8th, they won't get their money's worth.. Teams will pitch around him and they will finish around .500..

And I did say that Ortiz contributes more... probably a sadder statement for the ChiSox that Dunn makes that much money..

Suggesting that he is irreplaceable is equally so.
Posted Wednesday February 19, 2014, About: Mt. Ortiz [expletive] erupts
Sorry.. grew up watching people play DH when they weren't good enough to play defense.. weren't fast enough to steal a base or play the outfield.. all they had left was the ability to hit.. once that goes.. and it will.. there isn't anything left to pay them for.. I actually think all players should be limited to 2-3 year contracts.. will inspire them to play better to get a better payday.. of course, I am sure you are right.. there are no examples of position players transitioning to DH..
Posted Wednesday February 19, 2014, About: Mt. Ortiz [expletive] erupts
Yes that was sarcasm.. because, while DH can be difficult, there are plenty of examples of position players transitioning to DH effectively. Again. I am not arguing his productivity, but to put out there that he his underpaid I think is a bit absurd. If you look up salaries for 2014.. there are no DH's in the league making more than him.. Adam Dunn gets paid the same amount.. and yes I would agree that he contributes more than Adam Dunn... however, everyone who makes more either plays a position or is a starting pitcher and have more opportunities to actually effect the outcome of a game.. with a DH, you are paying him to hit and banking on the fact that he will come up with the game on the line..

Half the Yankee line up...

Mike Napoli would likely be a good transition to DH.. he is already on your roster and has a health history from playing a position... or do you not like his numbers?

There are players around the league who could be had via trade or free agency... great thing about replacing a DH, you can pull from just about any position (except pitcher of course) and probably find someone who put up great or good numbers and would extend his career by not having to be burdened with playing defense.

Ortiz has put up good numbers and is a clutch hitter. I am not denying his productivity, but his belief that he is underpaid or irreplaceable is not very well thought out.
Posted Wednesday February 19, 2014, About: Mt. Ortiz [expletive] erupts
Cut him loose... When no one will sign him they can probably get him back for half of what they are paying him now.... seriously, there are a ton of position players heading into the back half of their careers who could easily convert to DH... I don't actually see where he has any room to negotiate..
Posted Wednesday February 19, 2014, About: Mt. Ortiz [expletive] erupts
Ortiz needs to remember that he is paid millions of $$$ per year to pick up a piece of wood and hit a baseball... that is it.. They are not even paying him for his blazing foot speed or superior defensive prowess <hits sarcasm butto>.. he should take his happy multimillion $$ self back to the clubhouse, thank God and stop the complaining.. because the rest of us make a fraction of what he makes and can't stand listening to whiny millionaires...

My biggest and only complaint is that we will all have to endure another year long fairwell tour where all the other teams will be expect to present gifts... What ever happened to just retiring towards the end of the season like Todd Helton did? Let the home town crowd gush over you for a couple of home stands and call it a day. Don't make the rest of us endure that.

LOL... If you were that close to a gang banger.. wearing anything from the Giants clothing catalogue... and made it out alive.. that is impressive..
Posted Tuesday February 11, 2014, About: Dodgers ripe for a deal?
Love listening to Giants fans talk about other teams and roiding... since the inflated head poster child for all offenses related to roids resided in San Fran for so many years...

Posted Monday December 23, 2013, About: Dodgers closing on ex-Cleveland reliever Perez
Not sure what you are smokin... but pass it around.. The Dodgers should be able to get everyone healthy to start the season as opposed to picking it up mid-season... Kemp will be back.. Crawford and Ramirez will have a full off season to heal.. They may have a huge upgrade at second base if the hype for Guererro is real.. and the pitching depth and bull pen are now stacked because they look like they will bring back Howell and the Perez deal is going through..
Posted Monday December 23, 2013, About: Dodgers closing on ex-Cleveland reliever Perez
I hope they pull it off.. With Wilson and Jansen, you would have the 7-9th pretty well wrapped up and any one of the three can close... if that offense is healthy, the Dodgers will be very difficult to beat on any given day... Kershaw could win 30 games...
