The Yankees did get a little silly with the contract, first and foremost the year's. Crazy seven years, please by the third year, this guy might eat his way out of the league or start for the Giants OFFENSEIVE line. One thing they should of done is put a weight clause in that contract. Everyone is up in arm's but the Yankees paid Clemens 22 mil!!!! This might of made some sense if they gave him 88 mil for 4 years. It dosen't sound as horrible as 161 for seven!!!! The number's are a big perception. And that's what everyone see......................eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

This isn't that hard if K-ROD wants 15 mill, Minaya is better off signing Fuentes and investing in a trade for Peavy.. Going with Sanchez{Remember it takes a year to be fuuly recovered from arm surgery!} Kunz, Ayala, Feliciano, Fuentes is not that bad trade Heilman, Smith and Parnell to Seattle for Putz.... makes sense addition by subtraction and you still save a couple of mill. And you get better value with Peavy,Fuentes and Putz... Of course Peavy, will cost tem thier prize jewel Martinez. But Peavy will be a steal remember Santana came and Gomez went. It really makes sense and it doesn't brake the bank.......

Peavy is a very good pitcher, I would tade Parnell, Martinez,Concepcion for this guy, imagine him behind Santana, Maine,Niese and Pelfrey. Wow sounds pretty nice... And probably unlikelly... You can only dream! No team get to top flight starter's by trade anymore. And please comparing him to those loser mentioned above those not even do this guy justice. First and foremost, has anyone looked at what allot of weight did to Willis, Colon and usually every pitcher that gains that much weight. He eventually gets hurt!! The Mets don't need this guy. What they need is a gut and heart check!!!! After that get some cojunes Delgado, Beltran and take hold of this team and hold yourselves accountable as well as everyone else. Then start by getting rid of Heilman, schwe, PEDRO, and all the other pretender's in that bullpen.
Here is a idea Minaya starting staff Johan,a #2,Maine,Niese,Pelfrey. relief Ayala,Kunz,Sanchez,Feliciano,Fuentes,K-rod....... Spend the money wisely the 25 million that drops off the books with Pedro,Alou,Heilman,Schew,Perez and the trade of a couple more like Castillo. This really isn't that hard is it Minaya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny being along time Mets fan, I look at this team and they don't have a identity. They seem to look allot alike the Yankees minus 24 championship's.
No true leader allot of good players, no stand up guy's like Laduca or say a O'neill. Randolph looks like a Torre clone. But he ain't. Funny this team could use a real MANAGER say Bobby Valentine who did more with less talent !!! The only thing that will save Randolphs neck is another starter a true no#2, like Harden then Maine, Perez, then Pedro. Also get back to the basic's and keep a steady lineup! To much suffling and run, small ball or he forgot he's got speed on this team. Stop playing hoerun ball. Anyway i give him 30 more games to right the ship, Ypu heard it here if he don't he is gone fore sure.....

Delgado has become a shell of himself. He might find comfort in trying to hit to the lefthand side of the field.. An d even try to bunt once in awhile.. Odd to say bunt huh!!! WHEN the whole infield is on the righthand side. That was the old day's in baseball. He has become to proud and Randolph to soft, to tell him hey maybe if you try hitting to the left and bunting evrey now and then it might help. But gone are the day's of a true manager telling his old power hitter, you ain't got it so try something new. It might help and have other teams respect you to the other side of the field. That just might open the rightside some. But old habits die hard. And that's wht Delgado will fade, and Randolph might be seeking employment elsewhere! Because he can't talk or teach old dog's new tricks.
