Everyone keeps mentioning how Nash's defensive liability will hurt the Lakers. My question, when hasn't the pg position not been a defensive liability for the Lakers since Magic? Given that, the huge improvement I expect Nash to give over the likes of Blake and Sessions to more then balance things out.
I don't like this deal, Josh Smith's game just doesn't do it for me. I ask myself who is better Pau or Josh and the answer is Pau. The truth is, the Lakers are stuck riding out the Kobe era and his near 30 million dollar a year contract for the next few years. Even if they gave Pau away they would still be well over the luxury cap. What the Lakers need, is competent point play and outside shooting. This team still finished third in the west and ran into a hot OKC team. Who, judging by reports doesn't look like they have the stomach to pay both harden and iblocka what they are worth market wise. Though it would be interesting if the Lakers can get a top 10 pick and a decent vet for Pau.
I seriously hope the Jets slide to start with Mark getting the boot and Tebow time has another improbable run like last year. Watching Skip Bayless torment Stephen A. Smith made my mornings.
How about trading for Chris Paul while at the same time significantly cutting your luxury tax bill and putting your team in prime position to then trade for Dwight. Okay, say that doesn't count because of the terrible veto by stern. He suckered Dallas into taking Odom for a trade exception and a first round pick. Which then allowed them to get Sessions and Hill. Solid players. Oh and in the process dumped the salary of the over the hill Fisher and Mr 5 million to ride the pine Luke Walton. Getting Cleveland to take Walton should have gotten him executive of the year imo.
Dude, how would you perform following seeing with your own eyes a relative get shot in the head. Then your refugee, playing basketball looses its shine when you're traded by your team. It doesn't matter how much you're getting paid, if you're not right spiritually/mentally you will not perform. With the shortened season, Dallas just didn't have the time to get him right.
Nothing wrong with what Bynum said, if he locks it in as he did with Denver early in the series the Lakers CAN win it all. Especially if Russel Westbrick shows up with another 3/22 shooting performance like he did in the loss to the Lakers. Lakers in 6!
The buck stops at Jerry Jones. What GM of a historic franchise could go so many years with this level of ineptitude and still have kept his job? Man needs to drop his ego and hire a true professional. It isn't working, time to try something different.
I really don't know why people are jumping on Jordan so much. He was very clear from the beginning that simply making the playoffs and exiting the first round wasn't good enough and it isn't. Not, if you are about winning. Being unable to land to FAs, the only true avenue to get better is to tank and hope to land a franchise player. It sucks, but it is what it is. If the bobcats land Davis, how much better will they be next year?
Last, Sterling still is and will always be the worst owner in the NBA. If it wasn't for Stern handing Chris Paul to the Clippers on a silver platter Blake Griffin would have been gone in a few years and the Clippers would have continued to be the Clippers. This isn't factoring in how much of a scumbag Sterling is outside of the NBA.
You guys seem to be ignoring a key point in the article "a fact that has more to do with naming rights than relocation.'' Not saying that much of what has been said isn't still true mind you.
