amare for Pau, leggo. it makes too much sense. dantoni, nash and amare reunited again and Knicks get a starting caliber player back for amare. or i say amare for Varejo or amare for big baby, guys that we can definitely have come off the bench without pouting.
isn't there some scrub on Washington we can trade Amare for - they ain't getting any FAs who willingly want to go there. trade Amare for Hedo, at least we can easily justify moving Hedo to the bench and he won't pout. there are no untradeable contracts in the NBA. its all a matter of who you're willing to take back. Arenas was once traded from Wizards to Magic - it can be done. maybe trade Amare to Denver for Iguodala, they ain't doing anything this year.
let's trade Amare for Anderson Varejo. only way knicks can move amare - and they need to move him - is to a small market team that can't attract FAs and can only aquire them via trade. i'm sure there's someone we can trade amare for on the Bobcats. trade Amare back to Phoenix.
since when is it necessary for the owner to be present? the GM, the person who runs the team on the day to day basis, is the more important person to speak with. the owner is the guy who made or makes his money doing other things, the team is a toy, an investment, that makes money for him. he isn't responsble for trivial details like "we're going to be a pick and roll team and need to assemble A, B, and C players to run it successfully". if DWill wanted to go back home and play in Dallas then he shouldn't need Cuban or anyone else. on the flipside if he didn't want to play for say the Charlott Bobcats then Michael Jordan himself couldn't pursuade him. it was always about the money. if it wasn't about the money as soon as he got word that Cuban wasn't going to be at the meeting they could've done something revolutionary like, i don't know, rescheduling the meeting. crazy idea, i know.
i laugh at anyone who still says the knicks gave up too much for Carmelo. of all the guys traded for him Nuggets only have galinari, mozgov and chandler. and they can't even use Mozgov as a starter. people just wanna hate.
how come everyone forgets about revenue sharing? rockets have to split Lin jersey sales 3 ways. have to split tv rights 3 ways. the only thing they can make more money off of is charging more for advertising due to increased demand now that Lin is on the team. its a convenient fact that everyone like to forget.
its just delaying the inevitable. fire him now. i can coach the knicks to a win over the pistons, doesn't mean i can coach the knicks to a championship.
there's always going to be "if we can just get this next guy" with the Knicks. they have 2 top 15 players in the league, 3 top 25, if you can't win with that then its the coaches problem. since when does a team have to have all-stars at every position? when did this happen? its the coach, fire him, hope for the best next year.
the Knicks org is garbage. how do you have an "interim GM" at this point - Walsh wasn't allowed back as GM way back last July. hwo do you have someone named an interim GM with the trade deadline a month away? Knicks have never allowed a coach to go into his last year without a contract extension. Dantoni is clearly not in their plans for the future. what kind of organization is run like this?
I don't see how Chandler/Stat for Howard and another backup big doesn't work for both teams. and it doesn't make sense how Howard would have the Nets on his list of teams to trade with and not the Knicks.
Chandler/Amare for Dwight Howard. Melo to the Nets for Deron. boom. ECF for the next 4 years.
i know for sure Nets don't want to lose Deron for nothing. they get Melo for the next 4 years, trade star for star, and he gets to stay in the NY area. win win for everyone.
Melo isn't going anywhere, please stop the trade-melo talk. the first one to go will be Dantoni. before you start breaking up amare/melo don't you think it makes sense to see what they can do in a different system? it might be time to see what they can do in a different offense. then if that doesn't work then you trade amare - not melo - cuz his contract is a ticking timebomb and isn't worth it if he isn't putting up MVP caliber seasons. Mike might be gone by the trade deadline, cuz if he isn't gone by then the Fire Dantoni chants will be too loud.
its time for Dantoni to go. he's out of excuses. we're losing to the wrong teams. one thing to lose to the bulls/lakers/thunder, but when you lose to raptors, bobcats and suns - that's inexcusable. time for a reboot.
if you put me as the head coach on the knicks i can win 4 games in a row at some point in the season, that doesn't mean i can coach the knicks to a championship. its time for dantoni to go. and i'm not one to be so knee jerk after losses. i wanted him gone since the two losses to the raptors and bobcats. i expect to lose to the bulls and heat and thunders of the league, the raptors and bobcats are the team i expect to pad the win totals. if we can't do that then we're just hamsters in a wheel just spinning in place, going nowhere.
C - Howard
PF- Harrelson
SF- Fields
SG - Shumpert
PG- Deron
i know for sure Nets don't want to lose Deron for nothing. they get Melo for the next 4 years, trade star for star, and he gets to stay in the NY area. win win for everyone.
