And who is the idiot that would even include Jason Kidd in the discussion? He is not as good at anything as either guy. Stockton and Nash are two of the NBAs best players of all-time. Kidd was very good for a decade and a half. It does not compare. Magic belongs in the discussion. Nobody else in my life (30 years) is even in the conversation of best all time PG.
Nash is a better offensive player tha Stockton. I give JS the edge in consistency, but Nash had a better, longer peak. Hell he is 38 and still in his peak. JS seemed to be very good to great every year of his career. But Nash's best year are better by a lot. He has two MVPs. I don't care what you want to say about them. Stockton has zero. Nash has had some amazing years. If he had a short peak I would go with JS, but Nash has been great long enough his overall career has surpassed one of my all-time favorite athletes in John Stockton.

He is pretty good. But I think when you say "best point guard" that it implies the player need to be a distributor and less of a scorer. Let me go on the record and say right now it's Steve Nash, and has been for a long time. He is the best shooter in the history of the game and has John Stockton like vision and Magics passing. Dude is an offensive juggernaut. Interestingly enough, I might pick Derrick as the best Guard in the league. It is just so hare for me to see him as just a PG.
It is the Bulls, by far. Jordan made the NBA global. The Bulls will go down as the most historically significant team of all time. Nothing the C's or Lakers ever did or will do will draw in more fans, money and talent than what the Bulls have.
But between the two fighting for second place, it is the Lakers by far. They have consistently been the standard in the NBA. Even the mighty Jordan had to overcome them. The C's sucked from Bird til Garnett. that's a long, bad gap.
I would have agreed both teams are "greater" on the court, in a historical sense. But as far as true greatness is concerned, you can't beat how the Bulls conquered the world. And don't try to give me **** about "the game was bound to go global, the internet assured that". Jordan was huge before the internet was a household staple around the world. People would but bootleg tapes of Jordan all over the planet. VHS has been around a long time and no Laker or C ever had suck an impact. No other North American sport has seen such global expansion. Football is just ours. Baseball we share with the Japanese. Hockey we share with the Russians. And despite all the ability to be globally connected no soccer or rugby star has mattered in America ever. I know the name of Pele, but am a little too young to remember him. And there is the Beckham guy but most people know him from his wife and tabloids. The Bulls, through the greatness of Micheal Jeffery Jordan, did what no sport has been able to do. Basketball is played in ever corner of the globe now. Every NBA team owes the Bulls half of their value to the global impact of the Bulls.
A Lin run offense? Man are you crazy? He is decent, don't get me wrong. But he has never been too good a shooter. He is not a top ten PG in this league right now or for the foreseeable future. And I have been a fan of his since his Harvard days. I hope he does develop into an elite 1. But lets reel it in a little. He is not Steve Nash. As a matter of fact, I see him more like Felton. Who also had a good run under coach D'. But your trade makes sense for both teams at first glance. sounds reasonable enough to me anyway. But isn't Orl going to have to dump off Turks hugenormous deal if they shop Dwight? I have a feeling that if he gets moved it will be at least a three team deal.

Well no ****. You and anyone else that has ever seen both play would.
