Sports is not life it's part of our society. An athlete can learn lessons about life through sports which to me is the very reason all kids should play sports when they are younger.
ND has been beaten badly by Ohio State the last 3 times they have played.Next year is coming and the Urban Meyer Buckeyes will be at the top of college football once again.Punishment accepted, taken time to move on.On a side note the ND T"eo hoax makes the tattoo scandal really laughable.
This is the state of the game today!MONEY$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ This I know, the last time Sports Il lustrated did an article on this subject Ohio State generated the most revenue as an athletic Dept.I seriously doubt that there has been any significant change since then.
Would agree the game would have mattered but the best team in the Big 10 is not playing in the Rose Bowl. For that matter under different circumstances that team would be playing for the BCS National Championship.
No The team up north is pure hatred!!!!! ND gets no respect from me until they join a conference instead of picking who they play for their own benefit.I actually like a few of the players from this years team. The TE and that LB Would have loved to seen them wearing scarlet and grey.
Actually Dan Devine was the head coach at the time.I took a visit, the campus was dry, the girls homely so I decided to go play for Woody,Turns out my freshman year ND won the National Championship, but I'm happy with my choice.Still those 3 games were real pasties who played your team even,no one is going to confuse them with Alabama or Oregon.
Had he not been disciplined at his previous school Youngstown for the same type of transgression I might be able to but into that.Protecting your players is admirable but Pryor and the others were nothing more than a bunch of spoiled athletes who thought they could do whatever they wanted to.Protecting the school and the program should come first even if it meant those guys being kicked off the team.As for Gene Smith I highly doubt that his job was more important to save than Jim Tressels'.In the end the 2012 Buckeyes suffered the fatal consequences of their actions.
If any money was due to Jim Tressel it should be given to charity as well as the remaining pension money due to Sandusky and Paterno. The athletes playing this year have nothing to do with the cause of the sanctions against their schools.
Have you heard some CEO from DeBeers jewelers is picking up the tab for Marylands buyout?Money is the driving force that is going to kill what is good about college football.
BYU won by 3
Pitt 3 OTS
3 Teams that really make their case for being #1
