Posted Thursday September 02, 2010, About: League's power play leads to PA ultimatum
Points which I think are a crock of caca. The Kovalchuk contract I can see them saying no to, it hasn't been signed and no money has changed hands with it. But to go to two other guys that are on their second year of a contract and say that if the PA doesn't agree to their terms they will go after the teams and players for those contracts as well? That is BS. What I hear the NHL saying is, "Like our commissioner who is a complete tool, we were too stupid to see what was going on last year and now that it is obvious to everyone, we are going to have to do something about it by strong arming the PA to change its ways or we will come after anyone who made us look like the idiots we are."

Correct me if I'm wrong but I vaguely remember that when he had his first interview out in LA that he said he had no idea why they gave him #99. Now this article is saying that it was this guy that is going to cut his hair came up with the idea. So which is it?
Posted Wednesday September 01, 2010, About: Edwards: I wrecked Keselowski for a 'for a damn good reason'
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this point for a couple of reasons. 1. Your opinion is that the first half of the situation was just a "racing incident" and we really don't know that for certain, Brad could have done it on purpose, we don't know what is going on in their head or what's happening on the track because we only see what the camera is showing us at any given point. What caused Brad to take out Carl could have been a situation going on for laps that we didn't see. 2. Your concern is for the fans in the seats which if we are going to take that as a basis for your argument then Brad is just as much at fault as Carl because when you take someone out you have no idea what the car you hit is going to do once out of control. So Carl could have went airborne and scattered debris in the stans in the initial accident. 3. You've already called Carl a jerk but didn't say anything derogatory against Brad so you indicate you are not a fan of Carl but apparently don't mind or even like Brad. I don't really have a like or dislike for either driver but you supported your feelings in your posts saying Carl even has problems with Kennseth but didn't mention the several people Brad has pissed off this year. So who really is the bad guy, the guy that started the altercation with his car or the guy that finished the altercation with his car?

So we should back away from the "boys have at it attitude"? Because what I see you saying is it was okay for Brad to do what he did to Carl with his car but Carl shouldn't retaliate in like with his own car. I'm thinking you are basing your point on the severity of the wrecks or the fact you either like Brad or dislike Carl.

I agree. It's gotten to the point these young guys are coming up in their 1st or 2nd season of Sprint Cup racing and because their crew chief, their pit crew, the team owner, the media and in Brad's case even his daddy have told them they are special so they take that attitude to the track with them. With that attitude they think they can do the things the veterans are doing and it isn't going over too well. I'm not overly a fan of either of these guys but things are earned in NASCAR just like any other sport. You think any of these pretty boys would take to some of the things NFL Rookies have to endure? What if Brad would have had his hair cut like Tebow's his first year in Sprint Cup. You think he would have gone for that? Hell no because he's been told he's special and can do what he wants on the track. Well, Carl let him know he can do that but there will be consequences because to the other 42 drivers on the track, he isn't special, he's an opponent and when you piss the wrong guy off, you will get what's coming to you. And that is what Carl said about taking him out. "He punted me, so I punted him." If Brad can't take it, then maybe he should think twice about who he is trying to man handle cuz to the rest he isn't special, just another guy to pass for the win.

I'll believe it when I see it. He'll cut all that crap off of his head for the Sox but when Torre told him to cut it nothing happened? Yeah right, I'll believe it when I see it.

No question about that...but do you think Z is the player that should be in the front of the parade making that observation? If anything he should be the one when looked at for a comment crickets should be heard during his non-response.

"Everyone makes money off of these tournaments except the players." Last time I checked I didn't make anything from these tournaments. It cost me money to buy the ticket, the food, parking and everything else that surrounded the tournament but still, last time I looked I didn't see a check in my mail from being a spectator at the tournament there Brian....

Big Z's a tool. Like the first 3 posts state...he should be happy to still be in a Cubs uniform so he might want to keep his mouth shut for a change and just do his job.
Posted Wednesday August 18, 2010, About: Lincecum answers tough outing with goodwill
Wow...I've been to many a game trying to get my favorite player's autograph and had them walk right by me and ignore the fact my buying a ticket was enabling them their ridiculous contract. This shows a lot of class and effort from Lincecum. I liked him before, I really admire his effort to show appreciation to the fans now.
Posted Friday August 13, 2010, About: Bobby V would manage M's
Lets be honest...the guy is desperate to get back into coaching. Are we really going to hear that every time a team has fired a coach or may fire their coach that Bobby V is interested. No Kidding!!! Orioles may fire and did fire their coach, he was interested. Seattle fires their coach, he's interested....every team out there that may or has fired their coach he's going to be interested.
Posted Wednesday August 04, 2010, About: Kovalchuk hearing has lockout underpinnings
They better get something going and clear things up. I honestly don't think the NHL could survive another lockout. The little dip s#it Bettman will go down in history as the person who destroyed the NHL for good. He's damn near done it now, another lockout will surely be the straw that breaks the camels back.
Posted Friday July 30, 2010, About: Were Hamlin and Newman the two drivers fined by NASCAR?
I agree with this to a point BUT, if your point is that Hamlin's comments all of a sudden are bringing light to something that most fans don't see or agree with then to me it is saying that NASCAR is trying to get their drivers not to speak the obvious. I remember at one time and it may have been last year that the phantom "debris on the track yellow flags" were a bigger issue and they actually started trying to show on TV what and where the debris was for the flag to come out. Now they say "we have a yellow flag caution on the track for debris" and then zip right off to commercials and we never do see where or what the debris was. So I see this as NASCAR fining Hamlin for speaking the obvious and treating the knowledgeable fan like an idiot. Which offends me because I feel the same as Hamlin. Watch the first 25 laps, take a nap or watch something else and then tune in for the last 25 laps because the last 25 is when NASCAR will find a way to bunch them up again for the final 25 laps. It's a joke...almost as big a joke as NASCAR itself these days with the morons that are controlling it.
Posted Friday July 30, 2010, About: Why Strasburg may be shut down in 2011
Okay, all good comments and good points...now here is my question. If you are going to coddle, baby, pamper, watch out for, limit innings, gradually work up his innings or any term you want to put to what they are doing to him, THEN WHY PAY HIM A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT TO BEGIN WITH!?!? I understand this is no longer a sport but a business but if I'm going to coddle some kid until he's ABLE TO KEEP UP with the big boys like C.C., Lee, Burnette, Santana then why pay him at first like one but treat him like a baby? I didn't start my job at top pay because I needed to ramp up and get to the point of pulling the load of the top paid people I work with. If you can't pull your weight or load for a whole season, why do you give someone a contract that is a reflection or standard of someone that can???
Posted Tuesday July 27, 2010, About: Will Lackey throw at his old mates?
It's old school baseball. One player hits two bombs, maybe takes too much time to get around the bases and the other team feels he's showing them up. Opposing pitcher finds the right opportunity or right player later in the game and plunks him. Old school, unwritten rules for the players and teams that in the past were always followed. Not many times you see this type of ball but it's nice to see again that that type of ball is still around. Which is Francona's comment, let the teams handle the situation. Now, as far as Lackey coming out and drilling someone, that wouldn't make sense. Papi got the HR's, pitcher got his revenge, case closed. Lackey hitting someone would do nothing but jeopardize everything. He gets warned or worse yet tossed, Sox lose their starter, other team retaliates and then you have complete anarchy. Situation is over, the "punches" have been thrown and it's over, move on.
Posted Monday July 26, 2010, About: Fine awaiting Devils, Kovalchuk?
Typicl out of control pro sports. NHL powers make the salary cap rules and come to an agreement with the Union. As soon as the teams figure out loopholes in the agreement then the NHL comes down with fines and start playing hard ball because they didn't see the hole first. Not that I agree with the contract cuz it was a load of crap what they were trying to sign him too but if you make the rules and someone finds a way around the rules without breaking them, then how can you fine them and come down hard on them when they followed all the stipulations that are on the books as of the time of making the deal?
Posted Friday July 23, 2010, About: Don't expect greatness from Cuban-led Rangers
I don't know one way or another if this would be a good thing. You can have all the money in the world but if you don't have the brains or someone with brains to use it to its full advantage then the money is useless when it comes to making a successful MLB team. I do know this however, when he was going after the Cubs the owners of the other teams were not thrilled with the prospect of Cuban owning a team so I wouldn't look for it to happen anyway. Bankruptcies, owners votes, judges decisions, Selig still at the helm, blah blah blah I think this is a non-issue article because it won't happen.
