Howard is in good hands with Jabbar and the Lakers. Kareem will be a great inspiration and motivator on the bench for Howard. Howard is going to be unstoppable with Nash in the pick and roll and his overall power game.

I don't think Laker fans should be worried about keeping Howard in Hollywood. Its a gimme.

The Lakers are just getting ready for Kobe's departure. The Lakers need another star that can take the place of Kobe when he retires.

It's going to be soon. Maybe another 2 or 3 seasons before Kobe hangs up his sneakers.
Now that they have Howard, they have Kobe's successor.

Hopefully Howard signs a multi year contract when the time comes so the hand off can take place.

Yes, maybe Lebron may be better than Michael Jordan but we're going to have to wait until Lebron has retired from the game to justify it.

Can Lebron win another 5 more championships to match Jordan's. I think this is what we have to look at when we want to compare the two.

Barkley, Karl Malone, & Ewing were great players but with 0 championships. Championships are how we compare greatness. Look at Bill Russell, there is no other player with more championships than him. I think Boeheim knows what he's talking about.

Greg Oden's career is over. It's too bad that it had to happen this way. Having bad knees was his downfall.

Bill Walton had bad knees too but he was able to play and win 2 NBA championships.

Maybe there's a team out there that will stick him on the bench as the third option for center.

I think it was the right decision for him to give up the reigns for another coach to handle. Is he still capable of still continuing? Of course he is but why risk not being able to deliver in another 4 years in Rio.

Maybe coach K could see the changes that could be happening with the age limit for playpers.

It the Yankees feel Ichiro isn't an everyday player then the reason why they got him was because they needed a quality player in their dugout who is multi talented.

He's not as young as he used to be we all know but at least he's definitely someone you can rely on when a situation arises. A lot of teams would like someone of his caliber in their dugout.

Nigeria was able to qualify to play in the Olympics. It just goes to show what type of competition the country of Nigeria played against to have the right to represent themselves in the Olympics. The Olympic committee should take a closer look at requirements for a country to compete in the Olympic games. Especially in this case.

In Asia, countries have to compete in the Asian Games to see who would be able to qualify to play in the Olympics. I guess we know what country is always winning in the Asian games.

Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the country of Nigeria. I just don't like teams losing by that many points. I'm not taking anything away from the U.S. team either. They are just awesome. I would just like to see more quality competition in the men's Olympic basketball category.

Bottom line is Nash is getting closer to retirement. This is his best chance of winning a championship. I don't think he wants to be like those other stars who never won a championship. I don't think it took too much coaxing from Kobe to make up his mind, plus he'll be closer to his children.
