Perhaps if the Mets would quit signing relief pitchers based on their previous steriod-enhanced performances, which are apparently no longer steriod-enhanced once they reach the Mets, things might turn out a little better.

So where, exactly, did anyone say that "nothing was found" at State? I don't believe anyone said that. In fact, you'll note that I said that it was "as much of a violation...." Obviously, I'm saying there were violations at State.

All I'm asking is that UNC be given the same sanctions that the Wolfpack was given back in the day. Dean would want nothing more. In fact, being the Saint that he is, I'm sure he's probably calling up the NCAA and demanding the same sanctions.

The "paved driveway"... are you referring to the one where David Thompson's dad produced the receipt showing that he had paid for it, himself? You mean the one that Dean Smith claimed to have "aerial photographs" of? The one that was looked into by the NCAA investigator who was a college roommate of Bill Guthridge, Dean's assistant coach?

And are you talking about the Jim Valvano who was investigated by both the NCAA and the FBI concerning the charges? The same investigation that turned up lesser offenses than those deliberately perpetrated by Roy Williams at Kansas? The same investigation where the NCAA Investigator wrote to Valvano after the investigation and said he would not hesitate to send his son to play ball for Valvano?

Perhaps you should read something that's not written by a UNC Journalism School grad sometime.

Cster, you should do yourself the favor of taking a math class. 1972 was 35 years ago, not 20. Also, the recruit, himself, said, "THEY were trying to persuade me..." Felton cannot speak to him about attending UNC. If he did, it's as much of a violation as the example I gave. Dean Smith, being the saint that he is and Roy Williams, the coach who left Kansas on probation, should both push for an equivalent penalty. And then they should enjoy a Coke together.

Back in 1972, Dean Smith turned in NC State because David Thompson played a pickup game which involved an assistant coach and because he got a ride home from a guy that had nothing to do with the basketball team, other than having graduated from State. NC State got a one-year probation and didn't get to go to the NCAAs despite a 28-0 record.

Since this is obviously a much more severe infraction, considering "They were just using different ways to try and persuade me to go there, especially Sean May," I am sure that Dean Smith would want UNC to have an equal penalty imposed this time around.
