We don't have enough money to fund our children's education, but we sure as hell need to be sure that we can use public money to fund a new football stadium.
If the damn 9ers and Raiders want a new stadium...they need to build it themselves...WITH THEIR OWN MONEY!!!
Zizou is right about the Italian teams being loaded with Italian-based players. The 2006 World Cup team (if I remember correctly) had most, if not all their players playing in Italy.
FIFA needs to change eligibility rules. If a player is to commit to a country, it should be the one he was born in. That is, unless, of course his parents were on vacation or is a military brat, if which case he would be committed to wherever his parents were citizens of at the time of birth. Hargreaves would play for Canada, Adu - Ghana, Rossi - US, Subotic - One of the former Yugoslav nations.
And Zizou, you're right about his career with the USMNT...but I still don't believe that the red card against Italy was warranted.
Simply put, if the MLS wants to continually put a quality product on the field, they need to respect FIFAs international calendar.
If the Angels aren't able to make a trade for a good bat because of this deal, this will not bode well for them.
