joec, it's not about career stats and what's written on paper. I understand those who aren't a New York Ranger's fan ask why he should have his number retired if he isn't a hall of famer. It's more than that. When players get drafted to the Rangers, signed or traded. They will look up to the rafters and see Messier #11, Leetcj #2, and Graves #9. Those 3 had the dedication, determination, and leadership to bring New York the 1994 Stanely Cup. To get your number retired you don't have to have a hall of fame career. Anyone who plays for the Rangers will see those 3 Names and know that it takes dedication to winning the Stanely Cup. Before 1994 the Rangers were on a 54 year Stanely Cup drought. They are part of the Original Six and they went a very long time without winning. If any Ranger fan watched or Brian Leetch's number retired, the crowd went crazy when Leetch announced Grave's number will be the next to retired. Without Messier, Leetch, and Graves this team would not have won the Stanely Cup. No player will ever have the dedication Grave's had on the ice and in the communities.

Told you all new york fans are ignorant fools and idiots.

Just because his user name is Yankeesteroiduser, doesn't mean he is a New Yorker. I agree he is an idiot for his comments, but that has nothing to do with being a New Yorker. I live in New York and I agree with most people here about how Henne didn't have to win a big College game to prove himself in the NFL. What is all comes down to is the supporting cast. Eventually Henne will have that cast with the Dolphins. It might not be this year or next, but Parcells and Company are making an effort to put a winning team out on the field in Miami and Henne will eventually be successful.

MAKE THIS MOVE TAMPA BAY.. That way I don't have to listen to Melrose on ESPN anymore.
Posted Wednesday March 12, 2008, About: Second line for Rangers' Jagr?
Glen Sather, the Rangers President of Operations said recently he will look to sign Jagr this summer. Jagr has said he does not want to play for anyone other than the Rangers. He's not going anywhere and everyone's allowed to go through a sup-par season. The Rangers are in the middle of a 10-0-3 streak. For all those negative people that say so much cr*p about the Rangers, they are one of the hottest teams right now in the NHL. Obviously this team is working and beating opponents.

And I agree with you Dirty Reject... Jagr is on a line with Dubinsky and Avery and that line has got it done. And Gomez and Drury and playing very well regardless what line they are on. They are still getting the most minutes per game and that's all that matters.

And goCanada... obviously you know NOTHING about Rangers hockey and you just follow the rest of the world when they say Jagr is a cancer. You can't argue the Rangers haven't lost in about 14 games. And Jagr has played every game. He continues to get double team which can draw an open man and he's creating oppurtunities for the youngsters.

50yearfan... the Giants are not going to cut Madison and McQuarters I don't know where you get your information from. Sam Madison had 68 tacklers which is the most in one season during his entire career and 4 INT's. And R.W. McQuarters will not be cut because he had an amazing playoff run. He had 3 INTs (vs Tampa Bay, Dallas, and Green Bay) in the playoffs. And the INT against Dallas ended the game. He wasn't the best during the regular season because he wasn't the starter, but he proved himself in the playoffs that he will be playing on the Giants next season. There is absolutely no reason to cut either player if both of them played well.

So if you bring in a Veteran who has experience, Robinson will benefit greatly and I would feel more comfortable with handing Robinson the point guard position once Marbury is gone. So the Knicks should try to trade away some of these players: Jared Jeffries, Jerome James, Malik Rose or Mardy Collins. I would keep David Lee because the guy is a rebounding machine and also can give 10-15 points a night, it reminds me of Camby's stats when he was with the Knicks. Trading away Jeffries will be very difficult because of his contract. But hey, they could even trade Marbury or Richardson away for a better Point Guard that will help develop Robinson. But the biggest problem here are contracts that are near impossible to move. But they do need to make some moves for this team to start competing. The only way I believe the Knicks should get Houston is for the league minimum with some incentives added to the contract, anything more is not worth it since Houston is unproven and because of the contract they gave him last time. So Houston coming to the Knicks can set up the Knicks to make some trades to adjust the roster. He is a better player than a lot of people on this team. I'd rather have Houston playing over Jared Jeffries who gets paid a fortune to average 4.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg 1.2 apg. So everyone can bash him as much as you want, but in the past when healthy he was a great player, gave us plenty of memories and made a few big shots in the playoffs and helped us get to the 1999 Finals. You all can cry over the 100 million contract he got, but it's not our money. It was Dolan's and that was junk change to him, so who cares. He got most of the 100 mil, was injured at the end of his career so get over it and take a look at Houston as a player and what he has to offer now. People get injured and it wasn't his fault. He tried to fight through the pain and rehab, but he couldn't. If you were offered a 100 million contract and weren't injured, I know every single person in the world would sign that contract. Injuries happen and it's time everyone got over it. The Knicks have a lot of potential on this team and you can't argue that. They are still rebuilding and in a weak East, they can suprise a lot of people, but they need to somehow rid themselves of these ridiculous contracts, (and I'm talking to you Dolan, will you just buyout Jeffries already, you can afford it since no team wants him with that contract). If they got rid of Marbury and Jeffries, their cap issues would be a lot better, and the distractions on this team would be gone so the youngsters can develop into potentially great NBA players.

I know most people do not like Houston and do not want him on the Knicks and that's fine I have no problem with everyone's opinion and I understand why people feel this way, but I will be the one to defend this because he was a major headache to the organization, but you can't say he didn't have skills when he wasn't injured. I liked him as a player (when he wasn't injured) he gave us plenty of memories with the good teams they had in the late 90's with Ewing, Larry Johnson, Sprewell, Camby, Ward, Chris Dudley owning the court (haha jk), when Houston wasn't injured he played very well and those teams were exciting to watch and gave little hope to Knicks fans. So adding him to our current roster would help us out and before you laugh I'll explain and be open minded with what I'm about to say rather than just saying the Knicks suck Houston sucks etc. etc. The team is young and athletic, it lacks experienced players. Houston has been to the playoffs, he's been to the Finals, and played in numerous all-star games. He says he wants to play about 15-20 min a game, and help mentor young players. You know when Houston played he had a nice outside 3 point shot, so he can help Crawford and Robinson improve and develop their outside shots. When Marburys contract is up he will likely retire and do his "Europe" thing or whatever you wanna call it. So that would leave Robinson to fill the point guard position unless the Knicks acquire someone else via Trade or Free Agency and that wouldn't suprise me. And we all know Robinson has potential, but usually takes 10 shots in 5 min of play when he's in the game. He lacks leadership to run this team and takes too many shots for a point guard. Though Houston was not a point guard, he can help Robinson with his outside shooting and his shot selection. Working on his shot selection will eliminate the amount of 'bad or poor' shots Robinson takes during the game. And having Houston come off the bench to give the team a 3-point threat will be valuable because Curry and Randolph both play in the paint (Randolph has a better 10-20 foot shot that Curry lacks) so when those two are inside the post, it'll leave plenty of opportunities for outside shots for Crawford, Robinson, Richardson, and Houston. Now the Knicks have a problem because they are 2 players over the 15 player limit for the season. But what I think they should do is trade a couple players and obtain another experienced player, preferably a point guard because Marbury is not a good influence for Robinson (Marbury is a distraction and take a look at his interview if you don't know what I'm talking about. He also plays the game for personal stats).
