Was that a rhetorical question?
Posted Friday March 13, 2009, About: Hughes thinks LeBron will stay put
Shaquille O'Neal, couldn't get it done in Orlando, moved three times, got four championships in L.A. and Miami. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, got one title in Milwaukee, moved once, got five more in L.A. Wilt Chamberlain, got a title in Philly, moved once, went to the Finals a ton of times and got one more championship in L.A.. KG, couldn't get it done in Minnesota, moved once, got a championship in Boston. And these are just the franchise players, not all the other key All-Stars like Ray Allen, Rasheed Wallace, Clyde Drexler, etc.

Your sample size is pretty weak, especially considering Grant Hill wasn't winning a title in Detroit and T-Mac definitely wasn't winning a title in Toronto. Tim Duncan is in that RARE stratosphere of players along with Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Michael Jordan, and Hakeem Olajuwon. And it is true that LeBron would love to be on the same pedestal as those guys. But those guys had much more competent management than Danny Ferry and coaches who weren't in over their heads like Mike Brown, and the above paragraph proves it's very possible to be successful with a change of scenery.
Posted Wednesday March 11, 2009, About: Inside D-Wade's feud with Shaq
Wilt won two rings. Hakeem won two. Shaq won four. So I'm not sure what kind of math you're using when you say four is more than two and two combined. Plus, if that's your only criteria, Robert Horry won more rings than Shaq and Hakeem combined, and only one less than Wilt, Hakeem, and Shaq combined.
Posted Wednesday March 11, 2009, About: Inside D-Wade's feud with Shaq
Tony Parker only helped Duncan win his fourth championship. He wasn't there in 1999, he was a bit player overshadowed by Stephen Jackson in 2003, and he was awful and got owned by Chauncey Billups in 2005. It was after that championship, when Horry, Ginobili, and Duncan were hailed as the heroes in San Antonio, that got him motivated to change his game, stop chucking all those threes he never makes, and focus on just using his speed to attack the basket.
Posted Monday March 02, 2009, About: Shaq blasts Bosh as 'RuPaul of big men'
No kidding. How did Brett Favre...I mean....Phil Jackson get in here?
Posted Monday March 02, 2009, About: Shaq blasts Bosh as 'RuPaul of big men'
Shaq did camp out, but he's been doing that all his career. If the refs are letting that go, Bosh should take advantage of it, too. That being said, I don't think Bosh is a franchise cornerstone, because he's 6'11" 130 lb. Even in the Olympics, where everyone (including myself) was praising him for his rebounding and defense, it was mainly help defense. He was clearly getting destroyed every time he went one-on-one against either of the Gasols, but watching him try to defend Shaq was like watching a matador defend a bull without his red towel, paint or no paint. Forget joining LeBron or D-Wade. He needs to get a Kendrick Perkins or Joel Pryzbilla lining up next to him.
Posted Wednesday February 25, 2009, About: Oden injury perplexes Blazers
somebody left his sarcasm at home today.

anyway, oden needs to get back to his college weight. hitting the gym isnt just about grabbing weights and bulking up. he needs to get on the phoenix suns program amare was on that strengthened his core to reduce the impact on his knees.

slow day for nba rumors, huh?
Posted Monday January 26, 2009, About: Celtics commit to Marbury?
Marbury can swallow his pride like Pacman can stop going to strip clubs. Oh they both know that would be what's best for them, but it ain't happening. You think Boston's team unity can handle Marbury? That's like taking the healthiest human in the world and making him try to fight off ebola. But please, go ahead and send him to Boston. I would love to see KG's new adidas commercial next year after Marbury eats that team alive from the locker room. "Boston is a brotherhood . . . except for Steph. He's like that jerk-off cousin we pretend doesn't exist."
Posted Sunday January 25, 2009, About: Source: Curry's son witnesses mom's murder
The killer certainly exercised his right to own a gun. I guess you're saying everything would've gone more smoothly if everyone including the kids had guns, too?

Tragic for Curry and his son's family. Hope they make it through this stronger than before, and hope they catch the criminal responsible and burn him alive.

just take a year off, tmac. or be like gilbert arenas and take two.

Posted Monday January 12, 2009, About: McGrady backstabbing Yao?
Calling Yao soft is a little misguided. He's slow, unathletic, and has short arms. I don't think he could be a dunking/shot-blocking machine if he wanted to be. He'd just end up fouling more. But his finesse, his sweet stroke, and his height make him unstoppable on offense. If anyone is taking too many shots, it's T-Mac and Ron Artest, who are averaging 38.8% and 37.8% respectively from the field. At least Artest plays smashmouth basketball, though. McGrady hasn't been taking it to the rim since 2005.

Posted Friday December 19, 2008, About: Bobcats, Warriors discuss Felton deal
wishful thinking. no way golden state gives up on either brandan wright or anthony randolph this quickly, and if they did, they'd want back a lot more than a mediocre point guard like raymond felton. also, if charlotte trades felton, who else plays point other than augustin? sean singletary? bob johnson may as well just put a "for sale" sign in front of bobcats arena and be done with it.
Posted Friday December 19, 2008, About: Jazz owner blasts Boozer
I was pretty surprised, too, to hear Boozer come out right now and say I'm going to opt out and get a raise from somewhere. I knew Boozer was deceitful, but I didn't realize he was that...what's the word I'm looking for? Oh yeah...STUPID.

Larry, give thanks for Paul Millsap.
Posted Tuesday December 16, 2008, About: Cavs, Heat discussing Marion trade?
Yes, bring in a guy who would have no use in your system and get rid of two crucial pieces (a shooter and a young back-up center) that make your system work when you are one of the top teams in the league. Look how well it worked for Phoenix last year! They led the West, then traded Marion for Shaq, and finally won that championship! That's how it happened, right?
Posted Tuesday December 16, 2008, About: Blazers prop up underwhelming Oden
Oden was better when he was at Ohio State because I think he had the right body type then. Long and muscular but not bulky. The one really bad thing I think he did in his year away from the game was gain a massive amount of weight. He is GIGANTIC now. He looks like a sasquatch playing amongst men out there, even next to Dwight Howard. All that weight has definitely made him slower and less coordinated. Plus, he just came off microfracture knee surgery. That extra weight isn't going to help your knee joints! Drop the pounds and get your springs back, Oden!
Posted Monday December 15, 2008, About: Nash: I feel like I've been traded
okay, i bought it the first 3-4 times, but this is almost certainly news created by the media. i have a hard time believing steve nash is crying like a b*tch to journalists day in and day out.
