I still believe that money has taken away so much from us fans. We are the ones who have built CFB and the NFL, and the more money WE make them the more they ruin the game. The last time we saw a team repeat as National champs( USC ) come to find out they broke the rules. That's why I say we will never see a repeat national champ which is fine with me but I don't want the reason to be because a team lost all of it's players do to the money draw of the NFL. Wish God could make an 11th comandment. Thou shall follow through with commitment. Buisiness is ruining the game I love, but it's the greatest game on the planet and I just can't stop watching.

I really agree with you about the NFL, and I don't blame the players as much as I do the owners and the NFL commision. It is them that has made the league what it is today. I think Warren Sapp summed it up perfectly "How can you be dedicated to a team that isn't dedicated to you?" But the real problem isn't letting people who break the rules play, it's the multi million dollar contracts they are giving those unproven rookies.

This is what upsets me about Vick. 1. Not so much his actions but come on you say he is great for giving, how much did he give before he got caught? 2. Many years ago there was a guy who played for the Cowboys ( the only thing I hold against the guy ) he was kicked out of the NFL with out being given the chance of rehab. Does Vick deserve to make a living? Sure. Maybe he can persue his degree field. Oh that's right he went early and didn't graduate.

Great idea! The only problem is you have agents and the NFL who will never agree to those rules. I mean come on I watched a convict play Tuesday night, now I know some will say he has payed his dues, but what is this tell our CFB players. You can do something wrong and still have a home in the NFL where the big bucks are. If Ray Caruth hadn't got life he would have probly gotten picked up to. But you are right the NFL needs to get in the mix.

I agree with you to some point. Now if he needed gas in the tank to go home to see mom and dad, or if he needed money to pay a bill for himself or his folks ( I mean they are the reason he is playing they did raise him and give him life ) I think I could swallow it a little better. But come on man they got tattoos!

tOSU, USC, Mich, and ND have always been front runners in the NFL.

Agree about the money. But look what these actions are doing to CFB once again the Money Monster raises it's head. The funny thing is the guy giving the tats will more than likely have 5 worthless autographs when they hit the pros.

The NCAA needs to crack down not only on the players but the schools as well. They also need to set up some kind of fund to help those families that are in need I think this would entice more players to stay for the full ride. But most of all monitor booster clubs, and agents make sure they all know it is a hands off policey. If the boosters want to help fine help those who are in need not just because they are a star. About the agents, the NFL needs to pull their liciense if they don't abide by the rules. And there has to be a code of conduct layed down by the NFL in order to make any of this work. But ya you are right no way I'll ever stop watching cause like you said it is the greatest game on the earth.

Boy do I hear ya. All about me has taken it's toll on the game and it seems that we the fans are the ones who suffer. I mean come on when will it stop? But even if the NCAA cracks down all they will do is push the ath. to the pros where you can go and serve time in prison and still have a multi million dollar job waiting for you as long as you don't kill anyone. Many years ago I was in Cal around Riverside and ment a guy that was once known as Hollywood Henderson. Ring a bell? The guy was kicked out of the NFL for cocain abuse not even given the opertunity to go to rehab. This sent a big message to all the young players. So what kind of message are they recieving when they see Vick playing every Sunday?

Simple. In todays game they really don't care about the team all they really care about is going to a high profile school and getting a ticket to the NFL. Most players in todays game are only worried about $$$$ and could care about CFB. It's just a stepping stone for them. Hate to say it but you're going to see more of it in the future.
This is whats happening, take a look it's not just the Big 12 south it's the whole picture. I say this there is not that unbeatable team out there. You can look for Bama to maybe make a serge I still think they are the best team out there but like I said they can be beat that's been proven once already. Everybody has off years where things just don't go right, and Texas is having one. But you can bet they will be in the hunt next year.

Ok here is my money point. Texas has a great program, and has that national eye on them always because they have built a program that deserves it. Now you take ISU ( and I'm not trying to make fun ) if revenues were shared equal they would have more money to dump into their program and have more money there to draw a big name coach. So if you are Mack Brown and looking for a job are you going to go coach a team that has money and the national attention, or to a school who has neither. Equal money means building a stronger conference a stronger conference means less thought about trying to find that 1 strong OOC game that could just maybe ruin your whole season.

It is how the Big 10 is ran all TV money is divided equal in the Big 10, each school is given an equal share. Not real sure how they divide the bowl money though. I might be mistaken but I think the Big 12 is the only conference that doesn't. Like I've said before if you think Neb left because of their slice you are wrong. I agree with how Dr. Tom is looking at it equal money means equal chance for schools to hire that great coach or build better facilities, and if you take a look the south has the most and the strongest teams while the north has fallen by the wayside. Oh I might add Warren Buffet is a Husker booster, now do you think it's about the money we're getting.

Who can call it with the way this year is turning out I mean really the early game was Iowa St vs Texas. Figured hay it'll be a blow out so did some work around the house till Okie St n Neb came on JRM you are right not only grow up but someone needs to step up into that leadership role, thought Gilbert was going to do it after the Neb game but looks rough for Texas. Me I want Neb to win but when your team doesn't take advantage of the home crowd. Neb has to stop the run it will be a great game. But like I said since about week 3 there is just no team out there who can't be beat.

Not nearly as annoyed as I am. But with the way things are shaping up and Texas not willing to split money equal and Neb thinking they should have more control they have pushed me into the corner and now I'm stuck in a conference that I have always hated, mainly because the sports writers. I just hope we earn our recognition not give it to us like they have in the past with the Big 10 and Pac 10. I will miss the rivalry.CYA

Oh no do rub it in that's one of the great things about CFB it's no biggie. Like I have always what goes around comes around, and I got to tell you B-f-G no matter what you do I always enjoy your insight. You are right it could be a 3 way tie in the south. Who knows maybe I can get a little redemption at the championship. But I think with the way we played last week I think I will worry about Okie St and the following games. With the way Neb played against TX we'll be lucky to make it to the championship.

Go ahead rub our noses in it you've earned that right they beat us. I just wanted to say you will never hear me whine about the championship game when it was over Texas won end of story. See most of those people who whine probably weren't saying any thing when we didn't make it to a bowl game in 4 years. Band wagoners can't stand them. No matter what I refuse to whine over a call good or bad it's part of the game. Oh did I mention it's only good when it helps your team bad when it goes against. LOL

Trust me I'm a huge Husker fan. 1 second 2 seconds I don't care the game ended with Texas ahead game over. But if you think the game has any thing to do with Neb jumping conferences you are mistaken it all has to do with money distribution with the way things are Texas has the clout and you are right Nebraska doesn't like it. Oh and remember the Big 8 never joined them, what was left of the SWC joined the Big 8. The NCAA was so hot on the conference they couldn't sneeze with out getting in some kind of trouble. I can't blame Neb for leaving and yes I do blame Texas for 25% of the problem, 25% Neb being a bit stubborn, and 50% money. I'm going to miss the Big 12 it's the only conference that is North vs South and I'm going to take the high road and wish them luck there is not a bad program in the conference and several very classy ones and that includes Texas. Oh and you are right we probably would finish in 4th place this year. We'll have to see about next year.

Posted Tuesday October 19, 2010, About: The first BCS and here are our initial thoughts
I think Bob Stoops is a fine coach and yes he has had problems in bowl games. I remember back in the 80s and Tom Osborne had a chance to win 1 or 2 national championships and when he lost the fans wanted his head but they stuck with him and he ended up winning 3 championships in the 90s. Stoops runs a solid program and with a solid program you produce solid players. But I still believe they can be beat.
