It would be pointless because Howard would be playing with basically the perimeter version of himself. A guy (in James Harden) who's heart, intangibles, & leadership ability we question. The same as Howard. Him going to Houston is not a good fit for winning titles. Now if he wants to party, have full, and make the playoffs a few times then sure, Houston is the place for him.
If Howard goes to Houston they're still not better than OKC, MEM, LAC, or SA. It's pointless. They'd be good but would not win a title. Dirk was hurt this year. He has a lot left. He was never the fastest or the most athletic player anyway. He's a scoring big that can pass out of the double team. His game compliments Howard's game more so than Gasol who can pass but doesn't command a double team and can't knock down the long ball.
Howard only wants more touches when the team is losing. Dallas start out 20-5 with Howard just defending and rebounding while catching oops from Collinson, he'll be fine. They'd just have to pay him like a superstar is the problem.
I kinda agree. I think the NBA has changed to more of a perimeter game. At first I hated the Dion Waiters pick because he was an undersized 2 guard but the more I look around the league, that's pretty much the trend. The Knicks play 3 PGs at once and teams don't seem to have an answer for it. The Warriors are doing the same so it's definitely a new NBA. Not like the one we're accustomed to.
But you gonna compare Mike D'Antoni to Rick Carlisle? Or Jim Buss to Mark Cuban? As of right now the Mavericks franchise is more stable than the Lakers'. Not to mention all the injuries the Lakers had. I agree Howard is a chump but he'd be better as a role player than the first or second leader on a contender. Dallas is a better fit for him as of right now is all i'm saying.
But nobody would say "the Rockets are a lock to get to the NBA finals with Howard". No one would say that because that team still has some growing to do. If Howard goes to Houston that means he's one of the leaders & he's not a leader. He's a glorified role player. In Dallas Dirk, Marion, & Mayo are the leaders. They have a firm locker room with proven winners. All Howard as to do is rebound & play defense. They wouldn't win 3 or 4 titles down the line but they become the favorites in the West right away. They'd have a 2 year window to win a title. Worked out pretty well for the 2008 Celtics. You play to win NOW. Not later.
Like I said when this trade first went down, Dwight is not staying in LA. He never wanted to be there. He's a role player in a superstar's body and he wants to play on the east coast anyway. Personally I think Dallas would be his best fit. Gives them an opportunity to win a title right away.
I don't like the people Jimmy Haslam are bringing in. I don't like Joe Banner & I don't like this chump. To say we wasted a pick on JG yet JG has emerged as our #1 deep threat so obviously his talent evaluating sucks. Get this fraud outta here.
It's not about how many games a black coach should get. It's about what's right. If it was a white coach i would still say it's unfair. You hire a man & give him $18m at least give him more than 5 games.
He didn't understand internet trolling & now I'm sure he doesn't understand real life gold digging.
