i believe that if atlanta was to get a franchise it would be very successful. i used to live in gwinnett county and if they were to build a stadium there, it would easily have 15K or over there at every match. there is a huge youth soccer base and the area is growing at an enormous rate. not to mention a large latino community there too. Blank is a great owner for the falcons and a great business man. he would know what to do to get people in the seats. NFL owners are doing just fine with soccer franshises. the glazers own Manchester United and they got a double this season with one of the trophies being the Champions League. if the mls is smart they would start a franchise there to tap in to the southeastern market and eventually try to start up a franchise again in miami or tampa bay or maybe somewhere like new orleans.

even though i would like him to stay in L.A. i would like to see him give Europe one more go. he would probably go to a mid table kind of team. i would love to see him do well in the Premiership because of all of his problems he had in Germany. we'll see what happens

i don't really like the idea of satelitte teams. i get the point of it (trying to appeal to the mexican population and for them to fill the seats for MLS games) but i'd rather see a team that was authentic to the city it is in. if a club were to be in San Antonio it would be great, just not another satelitte team. look at Chivas USA in L.A. they're getting no where near the attendance that the Galaxy are getting. Satelitte teams: thoughtful idea but won't work

i agree with you partly cuerazo in the fact that they dropped the ball on signing Klinsmann but i really don't think that we'll be in mediocrity. espicially when Bruce Arena was here we were not mediocre. we were pretty darn good except for the 06' world cup. but in the world cup everyone seems to forget that we were grouped with some of the hardest teams in the tournament and the eventual cup winners. lets go get em' Bob!

frankly having a team in Vegas might not work out. since the MLS schedule is in the summer, playing games there would be awful for the players and fans. i don't think many people would love to come out and watch a game in 100 plus degree heat. but if they could get a soccer specific stadium and boost the appeal of soccer being in Vegas to the people living there and the tourists it could work.

i'm all for having exhibitions in forign countries but NO REGULAR SEASON GAMES. i believe it was two seasons ago that the Yankees opened their regular season in Japan against the Devil Rays. i woke up at 5:30 eastern time and the game was already over. it is redicilous. no regular season games in Japan or China
