What in the world are you talking about? First, it's MADDUX...and second, Mike never played for the Braves. I am not even sure that Mike and Greg EVER played on the same MLB team....
It makes zero sense to negotiate a deal with a team that is on a player's no-trade list - UNLESS that team is in dire need of a bat (which the Mariners are) and were willing to overpay for one (which the Mariners were). It sets the bar high for anyone else trying to trade for J.Upton - a middle infield prospect, a team's top pitching prospect (or top 3) and 2 solid relievers. For the Braves, it would probably cost them Nick Ahmed, Julio Teheran (or JR Graham), one of EOF/Venters/Avilan and maybe someone like Cory Gearrin.
Again, his 4 team no-trade list is: Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners. This thread is about the New York Mets...not the Blue Jays. The list is set, he can't change the list as he sees fit.
...considering his 4-team no-trade list is the Cubs, Mariners, Blue Jays and Red Sox, he can't reject a trade to the Mutts....surprised you didn't know that. Oh wait, no I'm not...
Bourn to Seattle makes little sense - they already have Gutierrez in CF...so I don't see that happening. Rangers make the most sense, but who knows with their management...
He didn't give himself that 4 team no-trade clause - the D-backs gave that to him when he signed the contract. I don't blame him a bit for not wanting to go to baseball hell in Seattle. My 4 teams would be Seattle, both NY teams and Miami.
Alacran, I'm starting to see how you have 12,000+ posts to your name.
As for the D-backs, they already got a SS via trade, so they don't want Profar or Andrus - their focus now would be pitching (2 top prospects, to start) for J.Upton. Some combination of Teheran/Delgado and Spruill/Cabrera would nab him.
Medlen, Hudson, Minor, Teheran/Gilmartin/Beachy, Maholm. Meds will win 20, Minor, 18, Hudson, his typical 15, and Teheran, Delgado and Gilmartin will battle for the 4 spot. Maholm will hang on to #5 until Beachy (who was the best pitcher in the NL when he got hurt) comes back.
If you're listing the Phillies above that, you're crazy...Halladay is done, Lee is overrated, and they traded away the guy who was probably their 2nd best pitcher (Worley) behind Hamels.
As for Washington, you had career years from 2 nobodys, Gio is an arm injury waiting to happen (I predict 2013), Stras will blow out his arm again (He's another Mark Prior) - Zimmerman might be the only safe bet.
