Posted Sunday December 07, 2008, About: Why Auburn isn't interested in Mike Leach
The thing about Leach is that he knows how to adapt his playcalling depending on his players talents. When Leach took over he had a bunch of 2 and 3 star players and so he tailored an "extreme" spread for them. It was gimicky but he got the most out each individual player. That is where Leach is at his best and the players understand thier role in his system. Now that we are getting a fair number of 4 star recruits Leach has moved to a more conventional spread. If he had gone to Auburn, Leach would have adapted as well and in 2 years confounding most of the SEC. Give him a true 5 star QB like Tebow and look out!
