who's to say that he wont be a great player? you?

i mainly agree with the point he made about Oden being a rookie and the expectations being super high. if he even becomes HALF of what people expect him to be, then he'll be a great player.

and EastCoastJessie, it sounds like Oden has taken it upon himself to accept the special treatment and distance himself from the rest of the team. I think that's the main knock on him. He's no different from the other players.

are you really comparing Oden to Jordan? If he was treated with any type of favoritism, its because Jordan EARNED it.

Oden, on the other hand, has done nothing.

you make a good point, but you fail to address the article.

he didn't say anything that everyone already didn't know... the Jazz don't want to go into the luxury tax - that's not a secret.

Miller plays well but I don't think its a fluke or bad luck that he's played on 4 different NBA teams. All-Star caliber winning point guards don't change teams that often.

Please see: Jason Kidd.

Plenty of good, and even great, players have been on more than a handful of teams. And i'm not talking about just point guards. I'm not saying that Andre Miller is on the same level as Shaq or Barkley, but those guys were on a few teams and they're pretty damn good.

Miller is a solid PG, although i don't think he's worth $10 mil/year.
Posted Monday August 11, 2008, About: Boozer won't rule out Europe
How are some of these players being "babies?" Because they're about to take the offer that pays them the most money?

Isn't that regular 9 to 5 workers do when faced with the same dilemma? It's the same thing if you ask me.

It's not like they're begging anyone to pay them more money; they're merely saying that they would entertain higher offers.

oh the irony.
Posted Monday August 11, 2008, About: Boozer won't rule out Europe
European teams wouldn't offer $50M Euro... the reason they're offering $50M USD is because they know how much larger a salary it is compared to NBA salaries.

And didn't Olympiacos provide Childress with housing and all that good stuff? Why wouldn't they offer that to any other player?
Posted Monday August 11, 2008, About: D-Wade showers Team USA with gifts
ok again Guam Baller... i don't see the point you're trying to make about players going to Europe. The reason so many players are open to playing overseas is because they'd be able to make more money.

and why wouldn't the players ever use survival kits? With all the traveling they do worlwide it makes sense to have a survival kit.

i'm not name calling... i'm calling it how i see it.
Posted Monday August 11, 2008, About: D-Wade showers Team USA with gifts
Guam Baller you are truly ignorant. first you make the comment about Euros not being worth much in terms of USD and now this?

"too rich to even think about a survival kit" ... ???

right... people with money will never encounter any natural disasters or any other form of danger.
Posted Monday August 11, 2008, About: Boozer won't rule out Europe
ok first of all, i don't think these players are just coming outta nowhere saying they'd play in Europe. I'm almost positive they're being asked if they would consider it and they're answering candidly.

Guam Baller are you serious? $50 million Euro is almost $75 million USD. Get your facts straight.
Posted Friday August 08, 2008, About: Kobe: I could play in Italy
This is all interesting, but I want to know how many teams can AFFORD to pay this guy 50 million Euros for one season.

They wouldn't be paying 50 million Euros, they'd be paying 50 million USD

big difference
Posted Friday August 08, 2008, About: Kobe: I could play in Italy
what I mean is, that getting paid 50 million American is a lot, obviously, but when you're converting it to Euro, you get killed...and it's probably more like 27 million

I think they are talking in terms of USD, and that's after tax. I don't think he cares how much it's worth in Europe.
Posted Tuesday July 15, 2008, About: Rose fined for 100 mph joy ride
And everyone talked about Beasley's character issues... Beasley is out doing this lil boy on and off the court... I predict Beasley will average twice as many points AND rebounds as Rose this year, be Rookie of the year, AND be selected to the All-Star game.

Rose isn't being asked to score and rebound. His role is to run this team and get his assists. And about Beasley "outdoing" Rose, he shoots the ball 5 times more than Rose does, so of course he's going to score more.

ps. And if going over the speed limit is ground for "character issues," then every player in the league has issues.

Posted Wednesday July 09, 2008, About: Heat eyes point guard market
i never said that they were on the same level.

i was making a comment toward Coach K taking Hinrich only as a backup. He must have seen SOMETHING in Hinrich that made him want to pick him up.

just to point out, before this season, many people were including Hinrich's name when mentioning how great that 2003 draft was. now everyone wants him gone just cuz Rose is in town.

14 and 10 is "well worth" 12 mil?

you've gotta be kidding.

^^ you say that like its a bad thing.

because at this point, Chris Paul and Deron Williams are backups for Team USA.
