For all the Hawks bashers on here - 90% of the league would take Atlanta's success and results in the past decade for their teams. Yes the ultimate is to win it all, but realistically, just 2-3 teams have that shot each year. Therefore most of the comments are ignorant. And what Ferry is doing is extremely appropriate. Yes, Drew is still on contract but only until June-end, and the season has been long over. It isn't like he is interviewing others in secret or w/o informing. He said so even during the season that he's going to keep all options open.
Drew is MORE than welcome to walk if he found something else.
I still think, at that time, it was a very bad deal because Boston were on a roll and more than likely could have won another ring. He just was a much better fit to the Celtics ball, than is for OKC.
They already have enough young talent, what they really need is some veteran help; They have to do it via trades and free agency. Drafting this year isn't gonna help them much.
Congratulations to Curry, Jackson and rest of the Warriors for an amazing season. They have some really nice pieces. But also glaring holes. They badly need an offensive inside presence. Bogut can't score, and I think he's done physically.
I'm curious to see if they can pick put Paul Pierce to take them to the next level. The need some veteran leadership.
I'm not exactly sure how/why Ferry wants to get a HC BEFORE assembling a roster. It is evident from the league that you can only build a system around the players you got, and not vice versa (for the MOST part). I actually agree that Drew's gotta go if Hawks want to get to the next level. Nothing against Drew, but he kept the team as-is, as he got it, and didn't let them slide.
I wanna see if Hawks can make a seriously play for Howard and/or Paul, regardless of the outcome. Make a strong pitch, and let it play out. Smith's gotta go! We REALLY need a true center, move Al to PF, and get a starting PG please (sorry Teague, you can be an awesome 6th man, but not starting quality PG).
Not his fault. Lakers signed him for multi-years, so they have no choice but to honor it. I'm always skeptical to sign players that are 35+ for multiple years.
I'm sure KD will take this as a slap on the face, work harder, and come back even better. When RW is back, they need some help in the middle. Perkins has to go, and bring in someone like Asik or Kaman that can score somewhat. Fisher is done, I'm not sure if they have enough money to make a play for Bledsoe.
As Wade wears down, if and when the Heat lose interest, OKC WILL have their turn to make it their year. They just have to be patient and keep working at it.

Sel-Fisher.
