Good grief, it's only baseball in 21st century America...millionaires on steroids trying to negotiate bigger contracts. Not like it was anything of continuing relevance. **** really cares about Seligball, anyway? When there's a decent comish maybe someone will care. Until then? Pfft!

Evidently, Mr Steinbrenner believes the MLB* playoff system should work like the BC$ cartel in college football. In his perfect world certain self-identified "elite" divisions whould receive automatic bids to the playoffs merely because they are "elite," not because they merit a playoff opportunity.

If he wants elitist treatment, perhaps Mr Steinbrenner should go buy an NCAA football team. After all, it's been done before.

Let 'em brawl, for cryin' out loud! It's entertainment...like the NHL and the WWE. Hard to believe people still take a dying sport seriously in the first place. When attendance lags feed the bloodsport impulse of the cursing beer-swilling testosterone-pumped fans and let the overpaid "athletes" fight. Maybe then they'll start earning their multiple millions like the rappers do.
