Hide your underage country music trainwrecks!
It's only 3 games. It sucks that the Pats got the snot beat out of them, but they have got to build off of it.
However, with him acting like such an arse near the end, how can you not tick people off, especially those who payed for him to live in at the top of the Whatever in the middle of Boston? And for him to make such stupid statements about not being comfortable? Whatever. I guess Hollyweird is just the right fit for him right now, at least until the money comes calling next year.
Of course you need thick skin as an athlete, but why wouldn't someone with some sort of morals be upset if kids were swearing at you? Obviously, their parents don't care. Now thats class.
Imagine his reception back at Fenway? And you thought Damon's first time back was bad...
They should open up a Stupidty wing in Cooperstown, with the likes of Barry, Roidger, Manny, and McGwire.
Will the Sox miss his bat come September and October? Who knows, but I'd like to think they wouldn't. Will they miss his stupid ****? Absolutely not.
Anyway, enough of Manny and Favre already.
He and Manny "I Love LA" Ramirez should become friends. Granted, Manny's bat has caught fire out in LA, but the Dodgers still suck. Same thing's gonna happen in NY. Favre will probably throw the lights out, but he sure won't be taking the Jets to the Promised Land.
Favre has made an absolute mockery of his career, and people are sick of it being shoved down their throats. But it's not going to end, now that he's in a Jets uniform. It's probably just going to get worse, with pictures of him out on the town, hanging out with other celebutards in NYC.
Excuse me while I go barf.
You'll love his production at the plate, but beyond that, it'll be the Manny Sideshow Act, and now that he's in Hollyweird, it's in full force.
I'm torn on the Manny issue. Gotta love his production, but his antics are getting old.
I have a friend, Mike, whose cousin works for PepsiCo in NYC. It was his job to go to the airport and greet and coordinate DR players for a group photo for Pepsi, right before the World Baseball Classic, which was around one of those times Manny was in the throes of, "I'm leaving Boston," or," I want to be traded," or, "I'm not talking about it."
Anyway, Mike's cousin started talking to Manny about it, and Manny replied, in broken English, "I really have not idea what's going on. I just let my agent deal with it." After the day with the players, Mike's cousin came away with the impression that Manny truly was a numb skull.
Go Papi, leading the Sea Dogs to victory!

Call it the baseball "purist" in me. I just like it that the game doesn't have to be stopped to check on a "missed" call. Replays kind of kill it for me. Same with football. When a coach wants a call to be reviewed, I start bellyaching. It just stops momentum.
Just a personal thing.
How do you speed the game up, though? Expand the strike zone? I coach high school baseball, and I'll be honest, the umps that have a tight strike zone really slow things down. It frustrates pitchers who are hitting the corners but not getting the calls.
Tough call. But please, no instant replay. I think it would take the human error factor out of it, and make it a more sterilized game. Just play ball.
I hate the Yanks, but just let 'em play ball without some big galoot yelling at them.
How did he "make" his money, anyway? The word "Dad" comes to mind.
I remember during last season's ALCS, he wouldn't shut up about Manny's "home run" being the longest single he's ever seen, why in the world wasn't Manny sprinting out of the box, on and on and on. It's a good thing I like my TV; I was about to smash it.
Yes, Manny does need to hustle more out of the box, but McCarver's diarrhea of the mouth was driving me insane.
But it seems like Joba is an overgrown kid. He's overprotected, doted on, and when he does something good, he goes nuts.
Ah, whatever. He's the one making millions, not me.
I can imagine the conversation...
(15 y.o. Mindy) "Wow Roger! You told your wife you were going to work out at the gym, but you come over here instead? That's great, but I still don't know how you're getting so big even though you're seeing me instead of lifting."
(Rocket) "No biggie. Guys do it all the time."
The Congressional hearing and book deal will follow.
The coaches have a legit beef. Imagine if you were to go on a business trip, and you were administration/managerial. However, everyone that worked under you got paid, but you didn't. Wouldn't you be upset?
It's a matter of principle, no matter if you are a Red Sox fan or not a Red Sox fan. If MLB is going to pay the players, the coaches should get compensated.
And yes, the appearance for the troops should be out of goodwill.
