Donald Fehr is only out for himself and his reputation. He ruins seasons. He ruins leagues. Why the NHLPA hired him, I will never know. Did they actually expect to get anywhere with him? I'm not even pro-league (I think Bettman should be fired immediately), but they were foolish to bring in such a maniac who was/is pretending to do their bidding. He's only out for himself and to squeeze the NHL, and we've lost a season because of it. Bravo NHLPA. There's only 200+ of you, and you're letting this guy ruin your season, destroy your league, and for what? So Sidney Crosby and other elite players can pad their already deep pockets, and get longer deals when the majority of you won't see anything close to that. Brilliant.
Until Sid climbs over the glass to attack a fan or assaults a 12 year old kid, he'll always be a "goody two shoes" in Milbury's eyes. He may move up a level or two if he attempts to stab somebody with his skate blade, but he'll never reach Mike Milbury's echelon of greatest.
Whoever said the Penguins needs a punch in the head. And that is coming from a Penguins fan. I didn't want the last one w/ Pittsburgh vs. Washington, I thought another team should have been there instead, and I certainly don't think Philly needs to be in it again. I know the NHL wants ratings ratings ratings, but they need to change it up every year and give other teams a shot.
Indeed Cooke has had moments of playing with his brain left in the locker room, BUT, you cannot overlook the fact that he is a very skilled player, both on the checking line, and on the PK. Yeah, he has some infractions that have tarnished his image forever throughout the league, but he is a skilled agitator. And although the cheapshot on Savard, universally deemed heinous, was in fact, at that time, legal. Same thing goes for Mike Richards. You can hate him all you want, and call him every name in the book, but you cannot deny that he is a skilled player. He's not as warped as fans, like yourself, seem to believe. Get your facts straight before you go getting diarrhea of the mouth.
St. Louis is a former Art Ross, Lester B. Pearson, Hart Trophy winner. He can beat the best defensemen in a foot race. I don't think it's fair to judge Lovejoy's entire career (present and future) based on how Marty's lesson on NHL speed.
As for Chimera: I'm not impressed. I wasn't impressed with Konstanin Koltsov either. That guy was super fast, but had hands of stone. What good is fast if you can't score or dish the puck?
