"Him" being Haslem that I'm referring to at the beginning of my last post.

I don't mind him as a 6th man... I just think he deserves to start. I also think his post game is better than most people think (although not in Boozer's league). But playing him along with Millsap just seems overkill for what they do... I mean that they're very similar. They both play with heart and hustle. They both will get rebounds, and play tough defense. They're both undersized, and I hate to say it but undersized forwards don't age well in the NBA (buyer beware on Boozer on this too).

I'm not claiming to speak for Kevin O'Conner, just stating the rumors I'm seeing on the local blogs and TV. The Heat deal just isn't very likely at the moment. Does that mean it won't happen? No, it very well could. Getting some cap room after next year would be nice especially if the Knicks rollover and give the Jazz their unprotected #1 pick in next year's draft.

I would just rather that the Jazz fork over the cash (which I know they can get) to Millsap, and then make a trade with the future in mind. Picks, young talent, a defensive C/PF (sorry but Okur doesn't bang well, and Millsap is only 6'7"). Read the article at http://www.sltrib.com/jazz/ci_12861146 to get some local sentiment from the press that deals with the organization daily.

Even if they have to take a loan, really only needed if Miller didn't want to use his own piggy bank (he's got plenty of dough), they'd do so before making a bad trade. The thing is, Haslem is a starter imo (I like him a lot). However, so is Millsap. Why trade for a starter if you don't need one. I'd much rather target future picks from a bad team (Kings, Warriors, Grizzlies, Minny) when dealing boozer, or for young talent that can back up Millsap now. If they do move Boozer now, it'll be because it will have more benefits than just giving them the cash to handover to Millsap.

From everything I hear, the Jazz won't trade Boozer for Haslem right now. Riley even stated that they hadn't entered into talks with the Jazz yet on the matter in his meeting with season ticket holders. The Jazz should hold out a little more, they have until February to trade him. Booz is in a contract year, and will play well through pain since he knows that's the best way to get another big contract. This will inflate his price, and allow the Jazz to sign him to an extension in a trade where both he, and the organization benefit prior to the deadline.

I'm down, but I want Randolph in that trade for AK. That kid is going to be special.

Well these days owning a championship is a rather fickle thing... After the Donaghy scandal and all. I'd also like to point out to "the dEE of Dees" that while I was cheering for the Heat over the Mavs in their recent finals bout, the refs handed that championship to Wade on a platter at the free throw line. Sometimes it's not how good you are, it's how much money you can make the league. (Not always of course, the Spurs were just better in recent years afterall, but I'd stop making comments that prove how naive you are).

The problem is, that when he sold the stock, he sold it to someone who didn't know about the pipe-financing that Momma.com was going to participate in... therefore, he ripped off the buyer of those shares, knowing full well that he was acting on confidential information.

This is like buying a lemmon from a used car salesman when the salesman knows very well that the engine is about to be blown... How many of us would be defending the used car salesman? This is especially bad since you can't go get your own inspection done on the shares you purchase like you could the car. What Cuban did was dishonest, and illegal. He just ripped off some poor schmo that had NO WAY of knowing that he was buying damaged goods. Send him up the river is right.

If the Jazz are in a position where they feel Boozer is gone, they'll likely participate in a sign and trade for another post player. However, I don't think that it will be an issue. The Jazz are more likely to trade AK47, especially since retaining CJ Miles who can fill in at the wing. You can also plan on Collins and Harpring being gone within the next two season. Remember the Jazz also own an unprotected Knicks loto pick... the future is bright for Jazz fans.

GhosTown, you are killing your credibility here man. West is a great player, but he's not as good as Boozer is. Give him a few years and he might get there, but I think career stats speak for themselves up to this point.

Jason Kidd has done more than both of them, not disputed. However, he's older now, and not as spry as he once was. I seriously disagree with your assessment on John Stockton though.

You have no way to prove that Magic would have retained the assist record had he kept playing. The facts are, Magic did retire, and does not hold the assist record. He was a great point guard, and nowhere did I say that Stockton was better than Magic Johnson.

Jason Kidd is not as good as EITHER player, and never has been. He's a triple double threat, but how good has that done him in the long scheme of things? I'm sure that the majority of NBA coaches, players, GM's, and Scouts would agree that John Stockton in his prime, is a better point guard than Jason Kidd.

This is especially true when you consider durability. Stockton did it well for 18 seasons, Kidd is already wearing down after 12 years. If I'm not mistaken, Stockton was running the point for the Jazz in the Finals in his 12th and 13th seasons? While Jason Kidd was pooping out in the first round against the losers in the semi's.

Not to rain too much on the Jason Kidd is awesome parade, but don't say he's the best... he's never going to touch the assist record held by Stockton, who also holds the career steals record, and has the gold hanging from the mantle as well.

Even after the game played earlier, the pest PG the US has put on the floor has been Deron Williams. Overall, this is very apparent to anyone who has watched the games, and has been repeated by most analysts, if not the mainstream media.

Chris Paul has done very well, but he is NOT playing as effective as D-Will is. You can ask for less minutes for Jason Kidd, but don't presume that Chris Paul should get those instead. He is being outplayed.

And if you want to compare how well D-Will and CP3 both did in the playoffs... please consider they both made it to the Semi's. The Jazz won 2 games vs the Lakers that beat the Spurs in one game. The same Spurs that beat the Hornets. I'd say the Deron again has the advantage.
Posted Tuesday July 15, 2008, About: Jazz, Williams nearing extension
It's the perfect team for D-Will, and he doesn't need Carlos Boozer to succeed. If Jerry Sloan stays, then Williams will always have the offense needed to showcase his exceptional skill. Utah is a wonderful destination for any play that wants to win. Besides, he's not going to leave the guaranteed money anyway, the most he'll do is take a 3 year contract thus sending management a message that they better not slack off.
