The SEC is the premier conference, I'll give you that. There are a lot of "good" teams in the SEC and usually one "great" team on a yearly basis. Last year the SEC had two "great" teams. That doesn't mean the entire conference was great. SC & Oregon are capable of beating the best the SEC has to offer though. I hope at the end of the year one of them doesn't stumble & gets the opportunity. You and I both know that no SEC team is interested in scheduling USC during the regular season. Aint that right Auburn & Arkansas.
The PAC 12 is top heavy but lacks the depth of the SEC. Still I think the SEC is overrated. It's not like other conferences shiver at the thought of playing Kentucky, Vandy, or the state of Miss. Auburn is probably going to stink this year too. They hang their hat on "great" defense. Many defenses would look great if they played against SEC QBs (with the exception of Cam) every week. Arkansas had a QB that went 8-0 in the SEC, then he transferred USC & was stuck at 3rd string.
Yeah Saints. Good thing you didn't draft Brian Cushing, Clay Matthews, or Troy Polamalu. I'm sure they wouldn't done much to upgrade your defense had you drafted one of them.
Now that's funny. Unfortunately the little gutties have not done their part in holding up the Pac12 banner. They did beat Tenessee two years in a row though, man Tenessee has fallen on hard times.
The 2 schools in Washington might suprise people this year. Stanford will probably still be very competetive, they had a great 2012 recruiting class. If their youngsters develop fast they'll be very dangerous. Utah will probably be SCs toughest competion in the South.
Let me get this straight. The SEC has two great defensive teams (LUS & Gump) last year and now the entire conference plays "great" defense? Last two Trojan QBs that played against the SEC dropped 70 & 50 respectively against eventual 2006 SEC west champ Arkansas. MB7 would put up big numbers against several SEC teams. IJS.
It's funny how short sided your history is. I seem to remember SC dropping 70+ & 60+ on Arkansas a few years back. And didn't Oregon drop 70 on Tenessee a few years back? I think Oregons low production in the NC against Auburn had more to do w/ the time off and flow of the game (commercial break every 5 minutes) than Auburns defense. They could never get their tempo going.
