Peace out,
I'm a basketball fan not a fanatic and I'm also a realist!
Can't downplay experience and with the addition of RJ they have plugged up a major hole.
My Lakers are still the team to beat but the Spurs core is still one of the best in Basketball and as long as they stay relatively healthy........I can see it coming down to them and my lakers in the conf. finals and the winner taking it all!
With all the changes happening in the off-season (especially in the East), this will be one of the best and most exciting and competitive seasons since MJ-Bird and Magic et.al retired!
Peace Out.....
Heck, I'm a Trojan fan and I sure hope SC's LB's get plenty of rest the week before the game because they need to contain the corners on this guy before he bust loose around the end or up the middle on a draw time and time again and then the running games opens up and then the long ball opens up and suddenly OSU is the one's dancing on the sidelines this year!
I've seen this kid in HS and he's definitely the real deal...he doesn't need any hype, just go to YouTube and watch some of his runs, passes, catches..... you name it he does it and he's probably potentially an even better basketball player!
I'm definitely not a Buckeye fan (not a hater but not a fan either) but this kid has stardom written all over him......
I don't pretend to know what's going on behind the scenes in the TT's front offices, but I'm quite sure that they will completely exhaust all possibilities that VY can or cannot play and perform at an above-average level both on and off the field before cutting him loose.
As we football fans all know, an NFL QB can go down and out for the season in the blink of an eye and having someone that can potentially step in (key word being potentially) is a smart football move if it makes sense or should I say Dollars and $en$e! Listening to his agent it would seem that both VY and his agent see the writing on the wall and it says "make a preemptive move before 2010 to secure his position with the Titans by restructuring his salary to that of a quality back-up as opposed to a budding superstar and they may secure his future with the best option for him both now and in the future!
They've already invested millions in VY and the Titans are a quality team so the chances of them landing another potential "Franchise" QB in the draft or even through a trade in the foreseeable future seem pretty remote at this point.
Even though the Titans wouldn't have to eat his entire contract, and cutting him loose wouldn't irreparably destroy their franchise, they will still explore and exhaust all viable options before severing ties with VY.
In my opinion it will come down to a business decision as long as VY doesn't do anything stupid for the rest of the season.

Any one that doesn't think that Golfers aren't athletes should just once try walking 18 holes on a standard professional golf course, even in perfect temps, it is still not an easy task!
Throw in the stress and strain of competition (especially at the professional level), the level of skill and expertise that it takes to even make the cut in a tournament (remember that even Tiger misses a cut every now and then which was proven at this years British Open), and the fact that on a physical skill level there's not much separating the top 25 players (just think if in any sport you had 25 teams pretty evenly matched playing for just one goal or even individual like Jordan-Ruth-Gretzky or Beckem-that had to face an athlete of equal or greater ability every time they stepped out on a court-field-ice-pitch etc.); and you have all of the ingredients of the dictionary.com definition of a sport " ???noun 1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc."
For those of you that truly don't think that Golf is a sport or Golfers aren't athletes and you decide to try to play 18 in 90 plus temperatures, then all I can say is to bring plenty of fluids and don't forget to rent a cart with shaded flaps:) Take care and this is just one man's opinion!
Good Luck to both of these fine gentlemen and athletes....

Forget the "next Black Quarterback" stuff VY, this is 2009 and this is a non-issue! A Quarterback that is good enough to start in the NFL these days with all of the ultra-complex defensive and offensive schemes and DE's and LB's that run like running backs is just that......A STARTING NFL QUARTERBACK; not a Black Starting Quarterback!!
You have the talent VY, handle your business on and off the field and all of the awards, role model stuff, pride and hard earned and deserved accolades will take care of themselves! HOF, who knows......players with half of your raw talent are enshrined there but they took the talent that they had and did some pretty special things with it! A player with HOF talent but doesn't utilize it correctly will step foot in the HOF the same way that I have...with a ticket!
Good luck VY, I'm holding judgement on you...even though I will never forgive you for beating my Trojans!
The only comfort that I can find in your comments is knowing that your views don't reflect the majority of the citizens of our great nation!
One day maybe you'll wake up and realize that Mr. Rooney's decision is about what he feels is in the best interest of our country not about race or gender!
I'm not a Steeler fan but I take my hat off to you Mr. Rooney, you embody the sprit of what makes our country the greatest nation in the world!
If the Lakers or any other team offered the water boy, the towel boy and a player to be named later...way later..... the Bulls should jump on it just to get this embarrassment in judgment off of their books and out of their sight!

On the other hand I also have a fair amount of confidence in the American legal system of justice (especially in cases where the defendant can afford competent legal representation) and the case will garner such public attention and scrutiny that no matter what gag orders, jury sequestering etc. the Judge presiding over the case tries to impose (pre-trial or during a trial if it actually goes that far) the case will be under such a media microscope that if Barry is guilty the facts will speak for themselves one way or another!
In my humble opinion, the case in the court of public opinion will boil down to one fact???did Barry knowingly or unknowingly use steroids period!
The bottom line is, win or lose in a court of law, due to the overwhelming negative view of him Barry stands to lose in the court of public opinion so in a sense the prosecution has already won. Barry is and has been for the better part of his career his own worse enemy and from my limited knowledge of the case there appears to be enough damaging facts that will be presented into evidence and made public at some point that just the mere fact that he was indicted will forever taint Barry???s career and overshadow his otherwise Hall of Fame credentials.
