Posted Thursday October 08, 2009, About: LSU noise factor may keep Tebow out
What I really want to know, sethgator, is this: who's your lady friend in the bikini? Think she might be willing to go out with an LSU fan?
Posted Thursday October 08, 2009, About: LSU noise factor may keep Tebow out
No, no, not that. Are they going to ask us to keep quiet on Saturday night?! Make us feel guilty?
Tim, stay out. This game is not do-or-die for UF. Save yourself for the rematch in Atlanta.
Posted Monday September 28, 2009, About: Kentucky DE who hit Tebow 'sorry'
Read the quote again. He says he's sorry that Tebow got hurt. He didn't say he was sorry for hitting him.
Here's an LSU fan hoping that Tebow's OK. That was scary.

He's saying this to provide a little boost to their recruiting.

I agree. But trash-talking is best done DURING the game, not out of meanness or spite, but ONLY to destabilize your opponent. Trash-talking is tactics, nothing more, nothing less.
After the game is over, there is no more need for tactics. Hout should have gone up to Blount, shaken his hand and, with a knowing look in his eye, said, "Hey, good game." Then Blount would have really been p**sed off, especially since he could only spend the next week punching the wall, because that arrogant SOB had the nerve to say "Hey, good game" to him.
Revenge is a dish best served cold, my friends.
Posted Sunday September 06, 2009, About: Blount's NFL stock takes hit
No, Blount should have taken his helmet off and then calmly asked Hout to repeat what he just said, this time within hearing range of everyone else, including his (Hout's) coaches.

What's all this about some French guy? Did we miss something?
Posted Sunday September 06, 2009, About: Blount's NFL stock takes hit
Does anyone know what Hout said? Would be worth finding out. Also, let's not forget that Hout hit the dude in the shoulder pads. Not very sportsmanlike.
Posted Saturday September 05, 2009, About: Blount's NFL stock takes hit
Agreed. Guys fight DURING games all the time. Why hasn't anyone gotten on Hout's case for taunting?
Posted Saturday September 05, 2009, About: Blount's NFL stock takes hit
Agreed. Why hasn't anyone gotten on Hout's case for taunting? Not to mention the fact that guys fight during games all the time. 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and that's the end of it. I think the real reason for the ban is that Kelly doesn't want any "distractions", wants to put this horrible loss behind him.

Sometimes boring is what they (or their parents) want, especially the ones from small towns.
Posted Sunday November 09, 2008, About: Can Miles fix LSU's quarterback problem?
100% correct. He couldn't have been any worse than Lee.
Posted Sunday December 02, 2007, About: Did Michigan's offer insult Miles?
Talk about a roll of the dice, if what you say is true, Jonmarr! Miles takes a huge risk in agreeing to the contract demand, but then has the luxury of looking his team in the eye, right before a big game, and telling them that he is staying. His team then goes out and wins the SEC Championship. His bet paid off, you might say.
But then WV and Mizzou both go and lose and Miles finds himself in the NC game! Either he made a deal with the devil, or Lady Luck is smiling on him. Either way, I want to go to Vegas with the guy.

Sorry, Jonmarr. I misread your post.
However, my point remains that UM was, at best, extremely clumsy in its courting of Miles. At worst, it simply didn't want him.
Guys do this all the time when pressured to ask out certain girls (blind dates, etc.) they are not necessarily attracted to. They are deliberately clumsy and aggressive in their approach, hoping the girl in question will turn them down (to get back to bayoucountry's courting analogy, above).

Hey, SoonerGirl. Where did you see that AP poll? I thought it came out at about 2:30 EST.
Posted Sunday December 02, 2007, About: Did Michigan's offer insult Miles?
Who's the jokester who voted Hawaii number one? This same Hawaii team that almost lost to La. Tech in overtime (the team that LSU blew out 58-10). And that was one of their toughest opponents all year.
Posted Sunday December 02, 2007, About: Did Michigan's offer insult Miles?
Jonmarr,
You say they made the offer "contingent on his accepting BEFORE they game". I rest my case: UM made him an offer he had no choice but to turn down. This is what UM was counting on. They didn't want him.

It's true that UM has more tradition than LSU. But, when choosing between tradition and national titles, well I wouldn't hesitate to opt for the latter. Sorry.
Posted Sunday December 02, 2007, About: Did Michigan's offer insult Miles?
Wow. LSU jumps Georgia in the AP? I expected it to happen in the BCS, but not in the AP (given that the AP voters don't have the responsibility of choosing who goes to the NC game)..
Posted Sunday December 02, 2007, About: Did Michigan's offer insult Miles?
Wait, is that right? OU has accepted a Fiesta Bowl invite? That's what it says on SI.com's bowl projections. That can't be right.
Posted Sunday December 02, 2007, About: Did Michigan's offer insult Miles?
To sum up: LSU made Miles an offer he couldn't refuse, while Michigan made him an "offer" he had no choice but to refuse.

Hi again, Sooner Girl. You know, I bleed purple and gold, but I have to say, in all objectivity, that it's a toss-up between LSU and OU. On the one hand, LSU's two losses were of "higher quality" than OU's two losses. But this is offset by OU's steamrolling the number one team in the land. Too bad they can't let OU and LSU duke it out and forget OSU.
