Posted Wednesday November 25, 2009, About: Artest: Free agents 'scared' to play in NY
There are plenty of players who move around from team to team, or stay in fail mode on one team, until they find their proper place and coach, and are given a chance to develop into stars.
Take Gasol for instance.

Artest may have found his place, too early to tell, however three things for sure, is,

1. His bad reputation is more about being misunderstood by those that love to hate.
2. Artest is no punk in any definition of the word.
3. He now has a chance to be a part essential part of a legendary franchise, and also get a part of that huge endorsement cake, which is smart.
Posted Friday November 20, 2009, About: Buss regrets Gasol's Euro play
You are right that USA team does present a problem if we restrict foreign players from playing on their prospective teams.

It would be smart that any championship team be restricted, and that players can only represent an Olympic team every other few years, though I would rather have the Olympics restrict pros from competing in basketball, as it is not a true representation of a country in my opinion, but of a training system that is paid for by big money and is why the NBA players usually dominate the Olympics.

As for your remark Perchic, though it was injured prior, the cause was overuse.
Gasol has been playing straight for two NBA and Two off seasons without a break, and the body brakes down when it???s not allowed to rest & recuperate.

They should put it in writing and maybe they will if this situation keeps going south.

What is ridiculous is paying these players multimillion dollar contracts, which, face it, is for the use of their bodies, will, and skill, all in the same package, then allowing them to eat candy as a dietary choice, play off season for another team or any activity which will affect their ability to fulfill their contractual duties.

If you think that any player would not sign a contract that stipulates that their health, which is based upon several factors as in resting when off season, then you are living in a dream world.

There are millions of athletes waiting in the wings that would love to take the place of anyone who was foolish enough to turn down that kind of money if the contract read that they were required to take care of their bodies when off the court.

It's a No Brainer !

Don't go there,..This isn't about Patriotism, this is about sports, and being to perform the job for which you are paid, by the millions of fans who buy the tickets, the cable access and the merchandise.

Besides, Real patriots live at home.

If Spain, Argentina or any other country are so in need of our NBA players, then they should pay for half our tickets and be there to supply us with proper replacments when and if our players cannot play.

We deserve to get what we pay for !
Posted Friday November 20, 2009, About: Buss regrets Gasol's Euro play
It's about time Buss acknowledged this fact and I hope it means that he will put a stop this nonsense.

Nba players should be required to rest and take care of their bodies off season as long as they are under contract.
They get paid too much not to.

The Lakers especially depend upon him to fill his position.

To lose him for a part or all of a season, especially after a championship run, is a breech of contract, because the following seasons are the most difficult of all with every team and stadium out to cut you down.

Home country or no, once you decide to become a part of the NBA your arse belongs to the team you contract with.

If you can't understand that, then you need to either be prepared to take a pay cut plus damages, for every game you sit out, that is if the team still wants to risk it, or the team should be able to void your contract and have you replaced.

Either that or simply bypass the NBA for the foreign league.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Another one of these fantasy articles to stir up some sediment from the bottom of the pond.
Posted Thursday November 12, 2009, About: Wade: Teaming with LeBron long shot
If that's true, then you just passed your hooked on phonics course.

Case in point, show me where I commented on what winners care about.
Though now that you brought it up, Both Jordan & Kobe would disagree, even on that point.

Getting back to my original comment.

With 3 SuperStars in the league now, pairing two on the same team, would be ridiculous,..
because by month 3, one or both of them would drop from that ranking,..
simply due the fact that there's not enough time, or ball to go around even a normal team.

In today's age, All star weekend is as far as that goes,.. or a Harlem globe trotters game,..

One superstar per team,.. otherwise the ring is not worth but half the value.
Posted Monday November 09, 2009, About: Kobe's contract extension on hold
Take it easy bro,.. many of the responses you jump on are simply jokes,..
Posted Sunday November 08, 2009, About: Lakers, Kobe talking extension
Nope, not wishful thinking,.. simply a bit of humor,..

Though I do believe that LeBron will be a Laker one day, it won't be until Kobe is over the hill or down the lane..
Posted Saturday November 07, 2009, About: Lakers, Kobe talking extension
Lakers are holding their cards close, while they talk in secret to LeBron,..
Posted Saturday November 07, 2009, About: Artest responds to Barkley's criticism
The only distraction is Barkley,..
It's his whole goal in life, to distract us by his silly statements,.. but also the reason he gets paid.
Posted Friday November 06, 2009, About: LeBron hasn't ruled out Knicks
Haters are their own worst enemies,.. It's a personal problem projected outward,..
Posted Friday November 06, 2009, About: LeBron hasn't ruled out Knicks
I don't think a max contract is his main concern,.. he can get 100 times any NBA salary on the commercial market, if he plays his cards right.

Yes if helps that effort if he also plays on glitter team, but the added benefit for playing on a mega-famous powerhouse team is adding his name to an historical legacy,

One location would fill that bill, and that is the city of Angels, stars, movies women & cars..

At the world famous Laker Stadium, banners fill the rafters, trophies fill the glass cases, stars fill the stadium.
If the game of basketball died next year, in 2000 years only a few team names would survive and the ShowTime Lakers would be one of them with their impressive list of famous players and accomplishments.

Now before any of you jump straight in your seats, I don't believe that he will arrive at LAX until Kobe is either on his way down, or out, but I do believe that he will arrive one day, if he's smart.

LeBron has designs on having it all, entertainment stardom and historical stardom, which neither Cleveland, New York nor Chicago, or even Boston can supply.

Funny !! But as Perchik says, could be some truth in that ;>}
Posted Wednesday November 04, 2009, About: Why LeBron may join Kobe in LA
Yes it was about ego, but the biggest ego turned out to be Shaq's.

Shaq knew it was time to pay Kobe his dues, so he thought this was his chance to get rid of Kobe by hogging rest of the team budget so Buss could not pay him, and Kobe would go to another one of those teams that were salivating over the possibility and offering him truck loads of money.

Thus Shaq demanded 31 million a season,.. OR a Trade, as it would effectively eat up any reserves and for pay raises.

He thought that he had that much power, that much pull, but his gamble failed and Buss sent him packing.

Yes, I also agree with you that it turned out for the best !

Lastly regarding that statement about Kobe,.."until last year",.

Kobe dragged his team to the finals two years in a row, and won one, so that old statement that people held over Kobe's head for years, about him not being able to win without Shaq was finally muted once and for all.

To still say utter it today, then say, 'until last year' is ridiculous would you not agree ?
Posted Wednesday November 04, 2009, About: Why LeBron may join Kobe in LA
Inaccurate, misinformation that was debunked long ago.

Kobe did NOT run Shaq out of town, Buss did, and only because Shaq gave him a ultimatum that he could not pay.

Lastly how could you still say that Kobe could not win a championship without Shaq right after he just did ?

Posting nonsense in response to someone you accuse of doing the same is quite hilarious.
Posted Wednesday November 04, 2009, About: Why LeBron may join Kobe in LA
I have learned from 40 years of watching B.Ball, and life, is to Never say Never.

Though I don't believe Lebron will arrive until Kobe is gone, I do believe that he will become a Laker one day.

He's Showtime to the bone, and Los Angeles is Showtime city, with all the stars wanting to shine there, to become brightest and the most famous.
Posted Wednesday November 04, 2009, About: Gasol's hamstring may be torn
Spoken like a true green pea, you think your troubles are over just because your old geezers are back on the floor for now ?

With one of the oldest teams on the court and in the beginning of a long season, you should be tip toeing around with a bible in your hands at all times, and never even thinking the word 'injury', let alone writing it.
Posted Tuesday November 03, 2009, About: Gasol's hamstring may be torn
Yes because his arse was worn out, overused,... the body needs rest or it breaks down part, by part.
Posted Tuesday November 03, 2009, About: Gasol's hamstring may be torn
We already know, Both Bynum and Ariza were out in the Finals vs the Celtics.

Not good karma to wish evil, as it tends to turn about on one.
