All schools lose recruits Joe. With Kiel he stayed for a year and then left (probably because of projected lack of playing time). Having said that South Bend is not exactly the "jewel" of the midwest. There isn't much there except the campus so if you are looking for major distractions outside of your studies and your sport the pickings are slim. As far as Te'o goes... who knows...? You may be right that there is more to the story but until it is proven otherwise I will believe what has been confirmed. He was a naive kid who was duped by a hoax and made a bad decision by trying to lie his way out of it...

I realize that you are joking PU but let me give you a little history lesson. ND has played USC every year since 1926 (with the exception of the war years). There have been periods in the rivalry where ND has lost several years in a row to the Trojans (most recently 8 in a row from 2002 to 2009). On the other hand, Notre Dame has a record of 16-23 against Michigan but 8 of those Michigan wins came before 1909. Since the two schools renewed their rivalry in 1978 ND has won 16 Michigan 14 with one tie. Would it not make sense to you (and the other Big Blue fans who have had their feelings hurt by ND's decision) that ND would drop USC before Michigan if they were concerned about their recent success against a team? ND - Michigan has been a great series but it is not a true "rivalry" to either of them. Let me close by asking you this...would Michigan consider dropping Michigan State or Ohio State to keep ND on their schedule? Bueller...? Bueller...?
