Just an observation, but did ya notice that 0-6 and Froggie responded to my "old fart" post.

Just sayin'.

Yes we are. 92 to 32. Gotta love West Texas weather in the spring.

Once the mesquites bloom, winter is over. Can't fool the old mesquites.

Yeah, all you youngsters (if there are any around this joint) pay your taxes so the gubmint can give it to us old folks.

Hey D2, watched your MSST bullies get a walk off win against Old Lady this weekend.

And, may all the Texas kids that were stolen and now play for the land thieves have the worst season of their careers.

Don't know but something has happened. I originally got to it via the SI site but bookmarked it directly a few years ago. Didn't know it was missing now.

Yuck. You have my sympathies.

Drinks for Vol on me GR.

Yeah, I agree that neither process will please everyone. Nothing ever does. (Remember a preacher telling me once that a church voted 96% to allow Jesus Christ to be a member!) Don't think they would have changed the process from the BCS style had the number of people not tilted significantly toward unhappiness with it. IIRC, the BCS selection process only came about because of dissatisfaction with the one before it.

As for extending the season, it will. If I calculate it correctly, it will extend it by only one game for the two teams that win the semifinas. It will be the same for the two that lose the first round.

I think a bigger downside is back to back travel for the fans of the teams that win the semifinal. But, some of those same fans seem to manage back to back to back travel all over the country for March Madness.

You are absolutely right.

Then they still have to win six in a row against damn good competition in the post season to claim it.

And Bama was swept by LSU a couple a years ago in the regular season. Then they got another shot at 'em without having to win ANY post season games.

LMAO... I blame that one on the coaches. They forgot to tell the players what color jerseys each team was wearing that day! Can't expect dumb ole football players to figure that out for themselves.

Nah, D2 knows my sarcasm when he sees it. He and I will never agree on the playoff versus poll issue. I'm in the playoff camp and he's in the poll camp.

But I don't agree with all of Vols statement either. Mainly the part about "...FB champions have to put their hearts into every single game" either...especially the "every single game" part of it. I can't see Bama putting their hearts into the Savannah State type games. Maybe they do, I just don't see it. I also don't think your Gators put their hearts into the Georgia State game last year until it was too late.

Yeah, let's just do away with the College World Series and let the polls vote for the college baseball national champion at the end of the conference tournaments.

Boy we have some geniuses in my home state. smh

Or maybe we can put them in the aggie category and consider Lufkin to be Western Louisiana.

I agree...and it won't even be close.

Randle probably gone tho.

Neither did Kentucky. I don't believe this is a new phenomena. IIRC, this has happened several times over the history of the tourney hasn't it?

Same as some of the previous years. Same as Women's BB, College Baseball, Volleyball. Softball, Golf, Tennis, etc, etc. Same as NCAA Div 2. Same as NCAA Div 3.

Both UCONN and KY were the best CBB teams "at the end of the year", not necessarily the best team this entire year.

But, at least they played it out and decided it on the courts instead of having it voted on by a bunch of hacks.
