Posted Saturday September 24, 2011, About: The greatest boxer of all time
Rocky "The Brockton Blockbuster" Marciano would be my choice. I can remember him fighting on the Gillette Cavalcade of Sports - a Friday night show, broadcast from Madison Square Garden that lasted from about 1946 until 1960, a 14-year period. All the greats in every weight class used to show up for some of the most memorable fights that era. If you love boxing and can ever find any of these classics on DVD they are worth watching. Boxing was different back then. Marciano would fight 15 rounds, be bleeding from all over his face - but you should have seen the other guy! Rocky was a hell of a fighter, and earned his name one punch at a time. Given how boxing changed in the years between Ali-Clay and Marciano it would be unfair to even try and compare them. I think it is enough to say that during their primes, no boxer went into the ring against them really believing they had a real chance of winning - they did it for the pay day.
Posted Friday February 11, 2011, About: Gary Moore - Guitarist of Power
This was a great tribute to an amazing guitarist and musician. You brought back some names from the past (Vivian Campbell) that I haven't heard mentioned in a long, long time. Gary will be missed by those who truly love the guitar! RIP Gary and thanks for the tunes while you were with us!

Posted Friday January 07, 2011, About: NFL job openings
Chosen, you are absolutely correct in your proposition. The NFL has too many stale franchises with coaches who are obviously tired of their jobs - or at least have lost all imagination associated with being innovative. Let's see some bright new talent soon! Mighty, paying a promising young assistant more than 2M would be crazy and most owners would love to have a coach at that price. Good potential and low cost can go together, especially in the markets where the openings exist.
Posted Friday December 03, 2010, About: Why Stanford is Better than Your Team
I thought it was a great article when I first read it. Great of you to post it again. I'm just surprised not more people believe that Oregon and Stanford are both capable of bringing Auburn down! Oh well, enlightenment comes slowly to some...
Posted Friday December 03, 2010, About: Pac-10 and the Next Best 3, Week 14
I only wish your prediction for the U of A/ASU game had been true. I still can't believe that ASU blocked two extra point attempts...why didn't Stoops go for two in the second overtime? He had home field advantace, they were unstopable with their flare passes and in the 3rd overtime, he'd have to go for two anyway. DUMB!!!
