"remember the first decade of the 21st century? no one's been as dominant as the SEC was then!"

something like that i imagine.

OM, you always seem to fall back on OOC scheduling and bowl record to defend you're position that the SEC isn't the top conference right now. You're right, you can make that argument but in the bigger picture neither of those matter. Let's look at the years of 2002-2010. By conference, here are the teams that have played in the NCG or had a convincing argument that they should have. I'm only including AQ's as the discussion is about conferences.

SEC - Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and LSU
Pac 10 - USC and Oregon
Big 12 - Texas and Oklahoma
Big 10 - tOSU
ACC - Miami
Big East - Cincinnati

This speaks to the depth of the conference. The SEC is not a one (or 2) trick pony. It hasn't always been this way and it won't always be this way. Support you're team and conference as everyone should but please stop denying the obvious.

Not a diss on Stanford. If you bunched them together instead of ranking them individually, they'd be in the same group. I challenge anyone to disprove that if the Rose Bowl game was played 10 times, both teams would have 5 wins. Both teams gave it their all and were evenly matched. If TCU's 3rd, then Wisconsin's 4th.

My apologies to Boise St. fans. They should be 10 not Oklahoma St.

Forget "national rankings", the best 10 teams:

1. Auburn
2. Oregon
3. TCU
4. Wisconsin
5. Stanford
6. Alabama
7. tOSU
8. Oklahoma
9. LSU
10. Oklahoma St.

Not so fast! I don't see Wisconsin dropping from the top 10. If Auburn wins:

1. Auburn
2. TCU
3. Stanford
4. Oregon
5. tOSU
6. Wisconsin
7. Oklahoma
8. Boise St.
9. Bama/LSU - If LSU wins drop Bama to 10.
10. Oklahoma St.

If Oregon wins:

1. Oregon
2. TCU
3. Stanford
4. Auburn

the rest will be the same as above. And in both cases, Stanford might finish 4 with the loser dropping only to 3.
